Varkala Beach, ook bekend als Papanasham Beach, is een klifstrand gelegen in het Varkala-stadje Thiruvananthapuram District

De Janardana Swami-tempel ligt vlak bij het strand. Het staat bekend om een tiendaags festival dat twee keer per jaar wordt gehouden, genaamd Arattu

Varkala is a 90 minutes travel from Kovalam by car. Any one can have a day trip here. There are number of shops available for good shopping also.

I along with my 3 children and husband had approached Expertise Travel for a one day beach tour as my children are crazy about swimming and I felt beach would be the best relaxation point.
