This is a very beautiful tour! The true Japan! Every place we stoped was absolutely beautiful and full of history! The lake located high in mountains, the 100m water falls, the temple! We saw monkeys and deers! Our guide Vicki told us so much interesting facts about the temple! And she was very understanding with the time! She gave us more time than was planned when we saw monkeys close to us! We already went to Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Tokyo, but this Nikko tour was amazing even after all the historical places we visited already! Highly recommended for everyone! The true beauty of Japan! The true nature of Japan!
Well organized, the guide provided interesting insights into the various areas of history, religion, culture, and nature.
A wonderful experience the Nikko resort area and the Toshugu shrine are both amazingly beautiful! Tons was very fluent and very detailed! Super sweet also.
Last seat alloted to us without prior intimation in booking. Seats were available when my cousin boarded the bus we were asked to get up and go to the last rows. Normally in SIC we occupy seats that are available by choice.
The guide need to be more knowledgeable on the historical sites. No point just tell us the name of the place without explaining the place history
Really fantastic trip.Shrine is so interesting and scenery is absolutely fantastic. Everything worked well - instructions were clear - you do need to be there 15 mins before time stated -as advised. Lunch options were not great if you are cautious but there is a stop at a nice bakery and just pack some snacks. Sophie was great and looked after us very well Overall I would highly recommend - great value for the experience
The temple was absolutely beautiful to see. You have to go for that because the other things were not worth it for us. The lake was nice but the waterfall was really disappointing. Our guide was a nice woman but unfortunately spoke unclear English so a lot did not come across well. She could also have told more about the how and what of the temple; how old, reason construction, why there etc. We missed that, also no further information about Tokyo or Japan. Lunch at the touted restaurant was also disappointing. In addition, more than 12 hours on the road. We would not book this trip again.
We’re sorry for the inconvenience caused. As this was during the Golden Week period, one of the busiest travel seasons in Japan, heavy traffic and crowds may have affected the itinerary and overall experience.
Scammers, the instructions on Viator are not the instructions the guide will send on the day at the actual start time. The instructions on Viator do not also let you know to expect the tour company to reach out to you via What’s App so if you are in route traveling and don’t use What’s App you will miss the Auto-message sent that doesn’t arrive until the exact start time. Which by then if you were at the starting point according to Viator you are late, which again is not the correct starting point. Totally disappointed as I woke up at 6am to take an 1hour train and switch to 3 trains to arrive at meeting point early to still be left. Scammers
We’re sorry to hear about your experience. However, we would like to clarify that all meeting details were provided in advance. Our guide was present at the designated meeting point, and all other guests arrived on time. The guide waited until 8:10, and the tour had to depart as scheduled. In Japan, tours operate on a strict timetable and cannot be delayed for individual guests. Thanks
Due to the poor selection of the meeting point in the area of a major construction site of the bus station, participation was not possible despite timely arrival, as we ultimately reached the meeting point too late. Communication with the guide was only possible indirectly via Viator Chatbot. Overall, a complete washout for a lot of money, since even in retrospect no insight for a complicity was discernible with the organizer. We book many excursions through different organizers. After this new negative experience with Viator, the app will be deleted.
We’re sorry to hear about your experience. However, we would like to clarify that the meeting point details were clearly provided in advance. Our guide was present at the designated location, and all other guests were able to arrive and join the tour without issue. We regret that you were unable to join the tour, but we hope you understand that it operated as planned.
It was a long day and the weather wasn’t great, however you can’t do anything about the weather. Our guide, Tina was great. Loved the sights and timing seemed ok.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the sights and found the timing well arranged. We understand that the weather was not ideal, but we truly appreciate your understanding. We’re especially happy to hear that Tina made a positive impression—we will be sure to share your comments with her. We hope to welcome you again on another tour in the future!
