Mount Bromo is heel bijzonder met het spectaculaire zonsopgang panorama. Landschap van Mount Bromo, Mount Batok en Mount Semeru die naast elkaar staan in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Mount Ijen ligt ongeveer 200 km verder naar het oosten en omvat een nachtelijke wandeling omhoog. Zodra je de vulkaan bereikt, zie je de blauwe vlammen (alleen zichtbaar voor zonsopgang) en zie je het meest zure meer ter wereld. Je ontmoet de mijnwerkers, zij zijn de sterke lokale dorpelingen die 's nachts werken om zwavel te verzamelen met behulp van zeer lage veiligheidsuitrusting standaard. Ze riskeren twee keer per dag 60 - 80 kilo zwavel van de berg af te dragen en het inkomen dat ze krijgen hangt af van hoeveel kilo zwavel ze naar beneden kunnen halen. Na de zonsopgang verandert Ijen Crater in een fantastische vulkaan die je altijd zult onthouden. Het zure turquoise meer, de werkelijk exotische vulkanische ruige kliffen, de rook van zwavel en de ambitieuze mijnwerkers, al deze combinaties kunnen je dankbaarder maken voor je leven.

- Mount Bromo en Cemoro Lawang kunnen behoorlijk fris zijn voor zonsopgang omdat ze 2.329 meter boven zeeniveau liggen, de hoogte bij het uitzichtpunt is maar liefst 2.770 meter. Temperaturen kunnen dalen tot onder de 7 Celsius (45 F), en dat houdt niet eens rekening met windchill. Het kan ongelooflijk winderig worden op de bergtoppen, en het droge seizoen is koeler dan het regenseizoen. Je zult het echter alleen koud hebben voor zonsopgang. Daarna warmt het vrij snel op, en de zon op deze hoogte is volop sterk.

- Wanneer u besluit om het blauwe vuur te zien, daalt u 800 meter af met steile omstandigheden tot een helling van 45 graden, het pad naar de bodem van de krater zal rotsachtig en smal zijn.
- Mount Ijen meestal tijdens het natte seizoen, de vulkanische activiteit in de buurt van de spleet van de vulkaan stijgt. Als deze activiteit plaatsvindt, zullen de autoriteiten het pad naar de Blauwe Vlam sluiten, maar reizigers hebben nog steeds de mogelijkheid om van het landschap te genieten vanaf de rand van de krater van Ijen, of als de vulkanische activiteiten de toxiciteit van gas in een gevaarsniveau veranderen, dan zullen de autoriteiten het hele terrein sluiten om veiligheidsredenen. Een bezoek aan Mount Ijen/Blue flame betekent dat je klaar moet zijn voor de onvoorspelbaarheid van de natuur. Er is geen garantie dat je op de dag van je reis de krater/blauwe brand afdaalt, de natuur is onvoorspelbaar en als het door massieve zwavelwolken op die dag te gevaarlijk is om af te dalen, moet je het voor je eigen veiligheid respecteren.

We honestly can’t recommend Bromoijen Tour Transport (Bromobackpackers) highly enough. From the very first pickup to the final drop-off, the whole experience was seamless, and the team made it truly unforgettable. Our driver Sigit was an absolute beast behind the wheel — his driving skills are next level, and we felt completely safe the entire time, even on the chaotic Java roads. On top of that he shared so much knowledge about the area along the way, and looked after us at every single step (even when we left our wallets at the hotel — he had us covered!). A genuine legend. Our Ijen guide Rossy was fantastic — absolutely hilarious, so knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. He made the pre-dawn blue-fire trek both magical and fun, and we felt in the safest hands the whole way up and down. Our Bromo guide Harry taught us so much about his culture and the region, and his local knowledge was invaluable. We had a super tight schedule, and the team nailed our timings to a tee — Harry made sure we didn’t miss a single moment despite the tight windows. And a huge thank you to Ary for organising everything so smoothly and being so responsive and warm throughout. The itinerary itself — Tumpak Sewu waterfall, the Ijen blue fire, the Bromo sunrise — was breathtaking, but it was the people that made it. If you’re considering this tour, book with these guys. Ary was very flexible changing the tour to let us go from Bali to Malang, was very well organised and patient given our flight was delayed twice. Ickbal was a lovely friendly driver who took us to a great lunch spot. I would suggest to those going to Bromo to walk across the Sea of Sand rather than drive as we got caught in a two hour traffic jam. If we were going to do this again we also would have organised for a break/rest day between Bromo & Ijen as we were exhausted. We had a lovely time and all the accommodation was really nice Thanks to everyone that made it work

We did the 4D/3N (this includes Sukamade turtle conservation between Ijen and Bali) and also includes the Madakaripura waterfalls on day 1. The quotation/booking process was very easy via email with Ary. Everything was explained (included or not included, what to prepare before the trip, etc) and we had a choice of accommodation type as well. Once the trip started we've been incredibly well looked after right until the end. We were met by our awesome driver Bagus and a representative (Nico) who organised the final payment and gave us a bag with snacks, drinks and other lively things. He also did a recap of what was going to happen in the next 4 days for us. We then went on with Bagus on a very comfortable car with water bottles always available and great conversations! All the activities were well worth the trip, from the impressive waterfalls of Madakaripura, the unbelievable views of Bromo park, the unique Ijen, and the emotional turtle experience. Both guides (Hari for Bromo, making sure we got at the viewpoint and to the crater at the perfect moments for best views and avoiding queues, and Suci for both Ijen and Sukamade, providing unlimited knowledge about the areas, culture, etc) were super friendly and took amazing pictures for us, and Ary also checked on us via WhatsApp during the trip. Unfortunately we couldn't see the famous blue fire on Ijen but the trip up, the views of the lake and the sunrise were still amazing! My favourite part was how incredible Bromo was and my husband's favourite was to witness a turtle laying eggs/releasing baby turtles to the sea in Sukamade. Once at the ferry port, we said goodbye to Bagus who left us with a porter for the ferry trip to Bali, and we then met our new driver on the Bali side for our final destination there. We want to thank Bagus, Suci and Hari especially but everyone involved with our trip as we will never forget it!
The best thing I have ever experienced in Indonesia! Every little detail was picked up on and sorted by the company. Everything was seamless and comfortable. Other than the breathtaking views and spots we saw, the team was the reason for the magical experience. All the tour guides were extremely helpful and supportive. All very knowledgable sharing facts and experiences at the locations. Mr Sigit, our driver, was incredible! He was there during every transition and long drive taking us through the whole journey. Perfect organization, guide in Spanish as we requested, very friendly and attentive at all times, he explained a lot of things and was very funny; we laughed a lot with him. Ary was very prompt in responding to all our queries before we finalised the trip. We were picked up early morning from Malang in a very clean and comfortable car by Alif. Traveling with him for three days was a very comfortable experience. He accommodated all our requests for stops and breaks. The guides in Tumpak Sewu, Bromo and Ijen were very helpful and friendly. They made the trip very enjoyable and memorable. There was someone to guide us in every step, including the ferry from Java to Bali. While the hotel in Ijen was top notch, the one in Bromo could have been a little better. However, this didn't take away anything from our trip. We had an amazing experience overall and highly recommend taking this tour with Ary and team.

The whole process from booking to actual trip days is done so professionally. Our van was so spacious and new; villa was in the middle of rice terrace so beautiful. Our driver Itong took care of us so well and all lunch restaurants he introduced, omg food so delicious and local authentic to the max. All the local guides were very good and helpful they took and edit Natgeo level videos. Best trip ever!
