Vanuit Marrakech : 2 dagen Mount Toubkal trektocht

I read many various reviews about Toubkal Trek. Therefore I expected the worst... However surprisingly everything went smooth with no delays, Accommodation was adequate for Imlil village, do not expect luxury though. Food was simple but plentiful . Guides needed to be reminded re slowing down the pace (for those less fit) on the summit ascent but in the end were very helpful and everybody managed to the top. All in all, good trek and value for money. My only issue was poor communication via TripAdvisor before the trip. Fortunately I managef to contact the trekking company directly and was able to get swift replies to my questions.

Went on a 3 day Toubkal Summit trek with Atlas Mountain Trekking. Jamal is super professional, very timely with responding to my pre trek questions, on time with pick ups and managing the whole trek experience. We were 2 women travelling and based on other reviews booked this trip - felt very safe, well looked after. Hussein was our guide to base camp and summit and he is AMAZING- got to summit and down safely large because of his professionalism, patience local terrain knowledge and expertise. The food at the Berber hut cooked by Mohammed on day 1 was outstanding! All in all an unforgettable experience made more special by the fantastic guides and Hisham and his mule!

Absolutely loved this trip and had the best time with Abdul our guide, Mohammed who was our cook, and not forgetting our mule, Jacqueline! From start to finish we were well look after. Mohammed provided us each day with tasty meals and mint tea’s. Abdul expertly guided us up to basecamp, he regularly checked we were ok as we climbed the beautiful valley. He made sure we took regular breaks. Once checked into the refuge we had a few hours free time to rest before dinner. Mohammed prepared a tasty soup for starters followed by a tagline, then fruit for desert. Abdul joined us that evening at dinner which was nice. On summit day after an early start, we set off in darkness following Abdul up the mountain. We kept a steady pace, with Abdul checking we were ok as we climbed higher. A massive thanks to Abdul and Mohammed for making this such a great trip and to Jamal for great communication and organisation.

It was amazing! We climbed to the summit and the view was spectacular. The tour guide (Muhammad) was very nice and the cook (Muhammad) ‘s cooking was soo good. We had traditional Moroccan food and tajines. The guide also is always by your side as he could save you plus the mule carer /cook assistant was also very helpful (Hassan). As a family of four, including two kids 10 and 12, we highly recommend this trip if you are up for an adventure . Look no further, this is a good company.

Amazing experience lead by lovely guides. Jamal was very responsive to questions via email and arranged transport for us to and from Imlil. He was also able to take care of some of our extra luggage during the trip, and gave us some very useful advice regarding travel for the rest of our trip. Yassine was an excellent and attentive guide, the route and pace was perfect for our ability and he took lots of great pictures during the trek that he thwn sent to us later. Lots of great meals for all three days too! A very special part of our trip, I'd recommend to anyone looking for a challenge and an adventure.

We cannot recommend Jamel and Atlas Mountain Trekking enough! We reached out to Jamel 24 hours before our ideal departure (after our original tour fell through). We were a little bit nervous as there wasn’t a lot of information online but he seemed genuine and the reviews were great so we decided to give it a go. Honestly, this was the best decision we could have made. Jamel organised everything for us without hesitation including an extra night in a Berber lodge, sleeping bags, return journey to Agafay (instead of Marrakesh) and even borrowed us cash (because we forgot to bring enough for tips). Everything worked seamlessly, this is a very well oiled machine. The hike itself was bucket list experience! After being picked up by our driver in Marrakesh we met Jamel in Imlil where he introduced us to our guide (@Imliltrekking) and held onto our luggage for us. We started our trek from Imlil (stopping for a lunch break and lots of photos) and then arrived at the refuge. The refuge was better than expected. Bunk bed style rooms, power points, clean bathroom and fire. After spending the night in the refuge we woke at 4am and hiked to the summit and back to Imlil. There was lots of food (prepare by a chef that hiked with us), the guide was super knowledgeable and kind (and spoke good English) and the mule was very handy to help carry everything! Recommendations: - bring a towel, earbuds (in case there is a snorer in your room) and eye mask - bring lots of water - bring cash (you will want to tip your guide/chef/driver etc. and buy snacks etc along the way) - better if you are relatively fit but not essential

We had an absolutely exceptional experience and cannot recommend heading to the mountains with Atlas Mountain Trekking more highly. Jamal was great to communicate with, Mohammed an incredibly kind and insightful guide, and Abdul and his mule looked after us very well. The route of the three valleys is very rewarding and a special part of the world to share with the Berber communities who live there.

We have just completed a 3 day hiking trip and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The communications with Jamal were excellent, and prompt, from the moment of booking to being picked up from our hotel in Marrakesh. Ahmed (our guide), Abdul (the cook) and Jacqueline (the mule!) where the most fabulous, friendly and fun team. We had an amazing 3 days and were looked after incredibly well throughout. From Ahmed we learnt so much about the local landscape and culture and he was a very thoughtful guide who at all times checked that we were ok and enjoying ourselves - in the more challenging areas he was always there to support. Abdul provided us with really fantastic meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) which we really enjoyed (and were definitely hungry following our walks!) and of course, Jacqueline the mule had to carry all of our stuff and never moaned!! We would 100% recommend this tour to all, regardless of how old. Ahmed will make sure that he will support you throughout - its not a race but an amazing journey!!!
