Om de reis vandaag af te sluiten, bezoeken we de oudste haven van Jakarta, de haven die getuige was van de hoogtijdagen van Nederland toen deze de hele specerijenhandel in Indonesië beheerste. Tot nu toe werkt de haven nog steeds voor binnenlandse verzending met traditionele houten boten van Phinisi die netjes zijn gerangschikt verankerd in de haven.
Bezoek Dutch Town of Old Town, waardoor u zich in Amsterdam zult voelen, omdat het hele gebouw in de Nederlandse binnenstad een Nederlandse bouwstijl heeft. Dutch Town of de oude stad van Batavia was vroeger het centrum van de Nederlandse overheersing bij het koloniseren van Indonesië, daarom waren er in dit gebied voormalige gouverneurskantoren, banken, ziekenhuizen, postkantoren en gerechtsgebouwen, die nu zijn omgebouwd tot musea.
Fatahillah Museum is ook bekend als het Jakarta History Museum. Oorspronkelijk gebouwd door Nederlanders in 1710 en gebruikt voor het stadhuis van Jakarta of "Staad Huis" ingericht met antieke meubels, porselein, oude kaarten en portretten, onderwatergevangenis en andere items die werden gebruikt door de voormalige Nederlandse gouverneur-generaal. Fatahillah Museum is een van de populaire musea die vaak wordt bezocht door toeristen die meer willen weten over het Nederlandse kolonialisme in Indonesië.
Bezoek het Poppenmuseum en vind geweldige collecties van het culturele erfgoed van Indonesië. Een oud-Hollands koloniaal huis met geweldige collecties Javaanse lederen poppen, houten poppen en maskers van Indonesië en sommige andere delen van de wereld.
Bezoek het Nationaal Monument dat zich in het midden van het Merdeka-plein bevindt, een 132 meter hoog monument met een bladgoudvlam bovenop, symboliseert de onafhankelijkheid van de natie. Dit is een van de hoogtepunten van Jakarta City. De kelder van het monument herbergt een tentoonstelling van 48 diorama's die de geschiedenis van Indonesië uit de prehistorie tot nu weergeven.

Our Jakarta tour was a perfect blend of modern city energy and uniquely local culture. We started the day at a massive clothing mall that felt like a world of its own—endless floors of fashion, from trendy contemporary styles to classic Indonesian designs. The variety was impressive, the atmosphere lively, and it was easy to lose track of time exploring the stalls and shops. Whether you’re browsing or buying, it’s a fantastic snapshot of Jakarta’s fast-paced, style-forward side. The highlight of the day, though, was the bird mall—absolutely unforgettable. It was unlike anything we’ve ever seen: rows upon rows of colorful birds, intricate cages, and the constant chorus of song filling the air. The care, pride, and passion for birds were evident everywhere, offering a fascinating look into a deeply rooted local tradition. Even for someone who isn’t a bird expert, the experience was captivating and surprisingly moving. Together, these two stops showed us very different but equally compelling sides of Jakarta—one modern and bustling, the other traditional and soulful. It was a well-balanced, eye-opening tour that left us with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for the city’s character. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to see Jakarta beyond the usual highlights. What truly made our Jakarta tour exceptional was our guide and driver. From the very start, they were warm, professional, and attentive, making the entire day feel effortless and enjoyable. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, offering thoughtful explanations and cultural insights that brought each stop to life without ever feeling rushed or overwhelming. Our driver was equally outstanding—calm, skilled, and navigated Jakarta’s busy streets with ease. We always felt safe and well cared for, which allowed us to relax and fully enjoy the experience. Jakarta traffic is horrible and the city is very busy. Our guide and driver did a great job of navigating the traffic and getting us to the sites. Arsi and the driver went out of there way to help us find some special foods we remembered from a previous visit.
It is a tour that must be adapted to the brief scale of the boats. My stay was 07 hours and the program was very extensive and impossible to complete. The attentions of Dewi and bold driver Daniel were excellent and we felt well taken care of and very confident with them.
We were collected at the port and had a excellent day touring the major landmarks of Jakarta city. Our guide Sheria was excellent at showing us around and explaining the history behind each sites on the tour. The lunch was very good . Our driver Mr Ikhsan was very good negotiating the traffic in the city and return us safely back to the port.
