Laat u kennismaken met de majestueuze Donau, een waar natuurmonument. Ooit de scheidslijn van het machtige Romeinse Rijk, blijft de Donau een belangrijke route die de randen van het oude continent verbindt. Bekend als de "oude reus", is deze rivier de geboorteplaats geweest van talloze beschavingen en culturen, met historische bezienswaardigheden langs de Servische oevers die dienen als een bewijs van zijn blijvende erfenis.
Volg het pad van de machtige Donau naar je eerste stop, het Golubac Fort. Gelegen op torenhoge kliffen op het breedste punt van de rivier, betovert dit middeleeuwse bolwerk bezoekers met zijn mystieke torens en sprookjesachtige sfeer. Klim naar een van de uitzichtpunten van het fort en je zult begrijpen waarom de lokale bevolking beweert dat de Donau vanaf dit uitzichtpunt op de zee lijkt. Geniet van een adembenemend panoramisch uitzicht vanaf een van de best bewaarde vestingwerken van Servië.
Geniet van een ontspannen lunchpauze in een charmant restaurant aan de oevers van de Donau. Dit is een geweldige kans om de traditionele lokale keuken te proeven terwijl u het prachtige landschap van de Đerdapkloof bewondert.
Na een ontspannen lunch vaart u door de Iron Gate Gorge, het smalste en diepste gedeelte van de Donau. Bewonder de opvallende rotstekening van de Dacische koning Decebal en vang een glimp op van het Mraconia-klooster aan de Roemeense kant. This is a very interesting trip, which we had planned weeks before traveling. Unfortunately, once we departed the driver started to insist that the boat trip to the gates might not be done due to weather issues. So he kept us in suspense until the afternoon when he said that it would indeed not be done because it might rain. I know that the company warns about that when one buys the package. But it seems to me that they do not do much to resolve the issue. For example, they could have done iron gates first and in the afternoon Gobulak, and that way we would not have lost that part. I think they have no incentive to offer the package and it is very easy for them to cancel, since it was paid for. Indeed, it was canceled and in exchange they took us to a museum. The driver apologized but there was no real interest felt in helping. On the other hand, for such a long trip, the van they used does not work well for those of us who were in the auxiliary seats. And in the photos they offer a more comfortable bus. In short, an experience that left us with a bitter taste.
The tour surpassed our expectations. It was a long ride but our tour guide filled the time with interesting historical facts that made the time fly by.
Over all the trip was very good and our guide Zoran was excellent. However it was a very long drive there and back and it was difficult to hear Zoran while sitting in the back. Fortress was amazing. Lunch excellent and boat trip was very good. However the litter at the boat ramp was disappointing.

The trip was very good, the places we visited were wonderful and the information about facts provided for tour guided were useful.
Long day so be prepared with snacks for morning trip east. Fort Golubac is wonderfully reconstructed. Great lunch!! Iron gates were beautiful though cruise not possible due to weather. Archaeological dig fascinating.
Interesting history about the fortress. Danube gorge is stunning and the boat ride is worth going on.
Everything is good, except the lunch place. I gave the host 2000 RSD, and she gave me 200 RSD change. However, just a few seconds before I was about to leave, she told me I only gave her 1200 RSD (the color for 1000 RSD and 200 RSD are similar). However, clearly remember I have at least 2000 RSD (2 x 1000 RSD ), which I confirmed one day before several times.
Excellent views traveling around the Danube for a day. Our driver/guide Uros was great for giving history and answering any questions.
I went on this tour as a rather last minute decision as I had a spare day in Belgrade and I wasn't disappointed. Tamara was a great guide, giving a good balance of information, humour, and allowing time for us to explore at our own pace too. Golubac is magnificent and Lepenski Vir vastly more fascinating than I had anticipated. The lunch (extra) was superb and home made. I can only imagine this tour in Summer would be even more beautiful along the Danube!
