Bezoek Ayutthaya, de UNESCO-erfgoedstad die al meer dan 400 jaar de hoofdstad van Thaise mensen is. Deze reis brengt je naar beroemde tempels gebouwd door oude Ayutthaya-koningen. De tour is geschikt voor fotografen en degenen die geïnteresseerd zijn in de geschiedenis van Thailand.

Bezoek vijf toptempels op de UNESCO Werelderfgoedlijst in dit historische park.
Bezoek Wat Lokayasutharam om de gigantische liggende Boeddha te zien met een lengte van 37 meter en een hoogte van 8 meter. De Boeddha is gemaakt van baksteen en cement in kunststijl Middle Ayutthaya.
Wat Yai Chai Mang Khon werd gebouwd door koning U-Thong (de eerste koning van Ayutthaya) in 1357 AD en was de meditatieplaats voor monniken die terugkeerden van bedevaarten naar Sri Lanka. De grote chedi werd in 1592 gebouwd door koning Naresuan The Great om zijn overwinning op Birma (nu Myanmar) in hetzelfde jaar te herdenken.
Beroemd om het "Bhuddha-hoofd in boomwortels", was Wat Mahathat een van de belangrijkste kloosters van het Ayutthaya-koninkrijk, niet alleen omdat het het religieuze centrum was en de relikwieën van de Boeddha was vastgelegd, maar ook omdat het een koninklijk klooster was.
"De heiligste tempel van de oude Ayutthaya". Wat Phra Sri Sanphet was de grootste en mooiste tempel in de hoofdstad en diende als model voor Wat Phra Kaew (tempel van de smaragdgroene Boeddha) in Bangkok.
Wat Phu Khao Thong werd gebouwd in 1569 door de Bayinnaung, de grote van Hantawaddy (nu onderdeel van Myanmar) om zijn overwinning op Ayutthaya te herdenken, en is een van de favoriete herkenningspunten van de oude stad. Bezoekers kunnen de chedi beklimmen om de schoonheid van de omliggende rijstvelden en de stad Ayutthaya te zien.

Enjoyed our Trip to Ayutthaya Temples. Started with Driver pick up 6.30am from our hotel in an air conditioned comfortable small van total group of 8. With experienced Guide we were taken to 3 sites all significant & stunning on their own. Lunch was local fair & very delicious. I recommend this excellent day out.

We were picked up right on time at our hotel and had a pleasant drive in the van with our group to Ayutthaya. The day we were there, it was unpleasantly warm and humid, but I think it was still worth it. Wear sunscreen. Lunch was great. The ruins were interesting (and sad) and our guide did a good job of explaining the history. I am glad we went with a guide so we could understand better what we were looking at. The ruins are spread out and cover a huge area and multiple sites. I wasn't sure he would, but our guide and driver stopped us right off at our hotel at the end of the tour. It was the night before Songkran, and the water festivities were already on!

Please note that while this tour includes hotel pickup within inner Bangkok areas, the standard drop-off points are MRT Sam Yot or Khaosan Road. If your hotel is located nearby, the van may be able to drop you off directly at your hotel.

I recommend this activity for the following reason: Hotel pick-up highly recommended, and although there's an end drop point, drive and guide go above and beyond by dropping at near to your hotel as possible. Though, return is in Bangkok's intense traffic, I recommend dropping yourself at the nearest MRT or BTS station. Then, each stop is allowed more than enough time to explore with freedom. If you desire more information about what you see, let the guide know, and he will provide you the history. Enjoy

This was a very comprehensive tour. I really enjoyed it. The lunch was great. I’m a vegetarian and they even made me a vegetarian meal. Would definitely recommend.

Guide was very detailed in his history of everything, driver was great also. The only problem was bad information about our pickup time..when we originally booked it, time For pickup was 7.00 am. Then the last 3 emails said it was 6.00am.?we tried to get it resolved, but nobody returned our request. So, we missed breakfast and sat outside at 5.55am,.nobody showed up until 6,50..

We had a really good guide on this trip pick up punctually ,very informative ,knowledgable and polite guide. It's abt an hour and a half there and back to the temples so worth bearing in mind for making arrangements afterwards .Nice lunch provided
