Verken de spirituele en vrome stad Sarnath, de plaats waar Boeddha zijn eerste preek hield en die nog steeds een van de vier belangrijkste locaties van het boeddhistische circuit is. Verken Varanasi met een boottocht over de Ganges en een erfgoedwandeling van het oudste deel van de stad! Wees getuige van de Ganga Aarti, een van de meest magische ervaringen (waar het vuur wordt gebruikt als een offer door de priesters) van de stad.

Verken Varanasi, een van de oudste steden ter wereld, samen met Sarnath, het land van Boeddha tijdens deze dagtour die je kennis laat maken met dit land in zijn absolute ruwe vorm! Je tour begint met je gids die je rond 13:00 uur op de dag ophaalt bij je eerste stop in Sarnath. Het land waar het boeddhisme in de lucht stroomt, deze plek heeft veel geschiedenis en cultuur te bieden. Staande als een van de vier belangrijkste plaatsen op het Boeddha-circuit, trekt de plaats reizigers en pelgrims uit de hele wereld aan! Bezoek de verschillende tempels zoals de Tibetaanse, Japanse, Koreaanse, Chinese en Thaise samen met het verkennen van het hertenpark (de exacte plaats waar Boeddha zijn eerste preek hield). Bezoek de stoepa's en het oudste klooster terwijl je gids je voorziet van alle geschiedenis.
Zodra je hier klaar bent, ga je terug naar Varanasi, waar je deze mystieke stad begint te verkennen met een boottocht op de Ganges! Dompel je onder in de koele bries van de heilige Ganges en wees getuige van de vele kleurrijke ghats (stenen trapdijk) terwijl je gids je het belang van alles vertelt. Post dit, maak je klaar om te navigeren door de smalle steegjes van het oudste deel van Varanasi, terwijl je een Heritage-wandeling maakt in het oudste deel van Varanasi in een exclusieve Heritage Walk. Voel je als een echte local terwijl je kennis maakt met de cultuur en het erfgoed van de lokale bevolking in dit deel. Je gids zal je vertellen over alle belangrijke functies en je zult ook stoppen om de Gouden Tempel te zien (de belangrijkste tempel voor hindoes in Varanasi)
Nadat je dit hebt beëindigd, ga je naar een van de ghats voor de avond Ganga Aarti. Een van de meest magische ervaringen die reizigers van over de hele wereld aantrekken, het is een ritueel waarbij priesters vuur gebruiken in de vorm van olielampen om zegeningen van moeder Ganges te zoeken. Sarnath is the place that Buddha gave his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. @Anup Kumar, our guide, was informative and helpful. The archeological site around the Dhamek Stupa was so accessible; we could walk all around it imaging life there over 1500 hundred years ago. Don’t miss the museum, it houses a very special statute of Buddha. Onwards to Varanasi; unfortunately the traffic was horrendous and we arrived for the boat ride in the dark. Anup managed to arrange a boat just for the 2 of us. We got close to the Ghats and the cremation sites where we could see the glowing fires and billowing smoke. Once back on the waterside, we made our way to Dashashwamedh Ghat to watch the Ganga Aarti. Anup showed us a spot to the side of spectacle with a great view but without being trampled on. It was fun to be with the locals rather than sit on the posher tourist boats facing the Aarti. It was magical with the rituals, music, smoke and dance. We had a wonderful day and night. Very nice and informative tour guide and we got really close to the things we wanted to see. Sailing on the river Ganged and then walk through old town was unforgettable.

We booked a tour on Get your guide for 72 euros per person and only the tour to Varanasi was included, while for this price we should have had more. Fresh water was included but we had to buy it ourselves at our expense and with 40 degrees it would have been nice to have it immediately available. Our guide changed 5 tuk tuks to save on the price, despite the high cost paid. He left us alone during the ceremony. The Aarti ceremony and the boat ride are in themselves very beautiful but booking at the hotel would have cost us 20 euros per person. I suggest you go directly to your hotel to get an honest price.

Our guide Amit took us on a very relaxed cruise on the river Ganges at dawn. Afterward we witnessed the Ganga Aarti. A very touching and spritual experience!
