Maak je klaar voor een onvergetelijke ervaring! Onze rondreis begint in Messina, de oude "poort naar Sicilië", waar geschiedenis en moderniteit, legendes en tradities, veerkracht en schoonheid samensmelten. Na onze ontmoeting kunt u, wandelend langs de schilderachtige weg die langs de sikkelvormige haven loopt, het standbeeld van de Madonna della Lettera bewonderen, de beschermheilige van Messina die iedereen verwelkomt die over zee aankomt. Vanuit hier beginnen we onze rondreis naar twee pareltjes van ons gebied: Castelmola en Taormina.
Onze eerste stop is het charmante middeleeuwse dorpje Castelmola, gelegen op een heuvel met uitzicht op het prachtige landschap! Castelmola, waar ooit een oud Normandisch kasteel stond, staat vandaag de dag bekend om een van de meest unieke bars ter wereld: Bar Turrisi! Een authentiek Siciliaans monument, bekend om zijn unieke inrichting. Hier staan we even stil bij de culturele betekenis van de iconische fallusvormen die als barversieringen worden gebruikt. Ze zijn allesbehalve vulgair, maar juist een levendig eerbetoon aan de oude Griekse cultuur. Ze symboliseren de essentie van vrijheid, vruchtbaarheid en leven. Dit is de perfecte plek om te genieten van een glas van de beroemde amandelwijn en heerlijke Siciliaanse cannoli.
Onze reis vervolgt met de afdaling naar de beroemde "parel van de Middellandse Zee": Taormina. Binnenkomen via de historische boog van Porta Catania. U duikt in het rijke verleden van de stad en verkent het spectaculaire Grieks-Romeinse amfitheater (ticketprijs niet bij de tour inbegrepen), een meesterwerk van oude techniek met adembenemende uitzichten op de Etna en de zee. Daarna gaat u naar de prachtige en magische openbare tuin Lady Florece Trevelyan. Wandel vervolgens over de Corso Umberto, de levendige hoofdstraat en de oude decumanus, en u wordt omringd door elegante boetiekjes, gezellige cafés, pittoreske steegjes en historische gebouwen die de ware essentie van de stad behouden. Tot slot rijden we naar een strategisch en uniek uitkijkpunt waar u het adembenemende uitzicht op het iconische Isola Bella kunt bewonderen en fotograferen. Zo houdt u een onuitwisbare en onvergetelijke herinnering aan ons prachtige land over.
Na ons bezoek aan Taormina keren we terug naar Messina. Als u nog tijd en energie over heeft, kunt u daar het historische centrum van de stad bewonderen. In het bijzonder de klokkentoren van de Duomo, waar zich een van de grootste en meest complexe mechanische en astronomische klokken van Europa bevindt. Aan het einde van de dag brengen we u terug naar het beginpunt. We hopen dat u een enerverende dag met ons hebt gehad.

Bij aankomst in de haven van Messina worden reizigers opgewacht bij Gate 5. Een van onze chauffeurs zal hen verwelkomen met een bord met hun naam erop. De begin- en eindtijd van de tour moeten minimaal 24 uur van tevoren worden afgesproken, op basis van de aankomst- en vertrektijden van het cruiseschip.

This was our second visit to Sicily, and there was never a question about who we wanted to spend the day with. We had a perfect day! We docked in the port of Messina and spent the day with Alessandro and Marisa. They could not have been more accommodating. They explained everything and had so much patience with us. It felt like we were hanging out with friends and family. This has been the highlight of our trip. We had the absolute best time in Sicily thanks to Alessandro, Marisa and Massimo! Marisa and Massimo took us to Taormina, Castelmola, and a last minute beach stop to swim. As we drove we learned wonderful things about our surroundings and the history of each stop. We enjoyed sampling the special food and drink of Castelmola and Taormina--each recommendation and offering by Marisa was amazing and delicious! Marisa took us on a walking tour through Castelmola and Taormina and it felt like a special time of learning from an old friend. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with them both! And as a special bonus, Marisa sent me pictures afterward that were the best pictures of my husband and me from our entire trip! She is a gifted photographer too! You will not regret spending the day with Marisa and Massimo!
We just had a lovely day with Alessandro in Sicily today. He collected us from our cruise ship in Messina and took us to Taormina. Showing us sights along the way. He was waiting for us well before we docked. He kept in contact with us when we had free time so we never had to worry about a thing. He was professional and really knows his way around Sicily. Marisa from Booking Sicily Yours was absolutely amazing. The pick up from our cruise ship was seamless. Right there at the end of the pier. Communication was also excellent. We got on a very spacious air conditioned van. Marisa brought us to Castelmola as our first stop with views of the smoking Mountain Etna. So cool. We went to a very “unique” bar where we tasted cannolis and “shots.” The views were amazing but be prepared to walk up hills and steps to get there. We then headed to Taormina which had amazing shopping and even better restaurants. We had plenty of time there. Marisa gave us a lot of information, made sure we were all comfortable, always made sure she did what the group wanted and even gave us a little keepsake at the end of the trip. We were back to the ship in plenty of time. What a great day in Sicily. We would recommend this trip to anyone (as long as you are good with a lot of walking).

We booked our trip after seeing great reviews for Alessandro. They were not wrong ..from start to finish he and Marisa were excellent. My mother needs a wheelchair to get around and they insisted on pushing her and took their time with her. Marisa was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of facts and history but more than that she was so lovely and it was so easy to get on with her. I cannot say enough good things about them both and would thoroughly recommend anyone to book with them.
