Van Brasov: Sighisoara en Sibiu met ophalen en wegbrengen van het hotel

Je avontuur begint om 9.00 uur wanneer je vriendelijke Engelssprekende gids je ophaalt in je hotel in Brasov. Maak je klaar om twee van de mooiste en best bewaarde middeleeuwse steden te verkennen tijdens onze begeleide dagtour! Eerst bezoeken we de Sighisoara Citadel, een UNESCO-werelderfgoedlocatie en de geboorteplaats van Vlad de Spietser. We verkennen de klokkentoren, de kerk vanaf de heuvel en het huis waar Vlad werd geboren! Als je honger hebt, kunnen we een lunch regelen in het middeleeuwse stadje Sighisoara (extra kosten). Na Sighisoara gaan we naar de oude stad van Sibiu, die in 2007 de Culturele Hoofdstad van Europa was. Je hebt de gelegenheid om door het Grote Plein, de Raadstoren, het Kleine Plein en de Brug der Leugenaars te slenteren. We zorgen ervoor dat je rond 20.00 uur wordt afgezet bij je hotel in Brasov. na een onvergetelijke dag sightseeing. Mis deze kans niet om samen met ons twee van de meest betoverende middeleeuwse steden van Roemenië te ontdekken!

Sibiu is het hart van Germaans Transsylvanië. Saksische kolonisten noemden de stad Hermannstadt. Sibiu-stad ligt op de plek van een van de grootste vestingen uit de Middeleeuwen uit Roemenië. In de Middeleeuwen werd Sibiu omringd door drie concentrische ringen van versterkte muren. Sommigen hebben het overleefd, samen met een fascinerend netwerk van pleinen, trappen en torens uit de 13e tot 18e eeuw. We bezoeken het Grote Plein, het historische centrum van Sibiu, voor het eerst genoemd in documenten in 1411 als graanmarkt, het plein dat bestond sinds 1366 toen de derde vestinggordel van de stad werd voltooid. We bezoeken het Kleine Plein, de op één na grootste historische plaats van Sibiu en een van de mooiste in de stad en het Huet-plein, gedomineerd door de Evangelische kerk, de oudste in Sibiu, de leugenaarsbrug. Hoogtepunten: het grote plein, het kleine plein, de raadstoren, de brug van leugenaars, de evangelische kathedraal en het oudste huis in de stad. • Brasov - Sighisoara 1 uur en 50 minuten rijden. • Sighisoara naar Sibiu 1 uur en 30 minuten rijden. • Sibiu naar Brasov 2 uur en 15 minuten rijden. Keer rond 20.00 uur terug naar Brasov en vertrek in je hotel of in de oude stad.
Breng een bezoek aan het middeleeuwse stadje Sighisoara, dat op de werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat, zoals de klokkentoren, de kerk op de heuvel en het huis waar Vlad de Spietser werd geboren. Wandelend door de smalle straatjes die we kunnen bewonderen, onder de schaduw van de oude klokkentoren, het huis waar een onbekende vrouw het leven schonk aan een kind, Vlad, die over de hele wereld beroemd zal worden als Dracula. Deze straten, die ook de rechte lijn en het horizontale vlak negeren, verbergen en onthullen bij elke stap in een gedetailleerd, maar stedelijk natuurschoon middeleeuwse schilderijen die het oog verrukken en tot de verbeelding aanzetten. Onmiskenbare charme en persoonlijkheid van de stad werden gebouwd in de tijd, door de opeenvolgende afzettingen van geschiedenis te harmoniseren. Wandelend langs de muur rond de citadel van Sighisoara bewonderen we de vijf eeuwen oude huizen samen met de torens die zijn opgetrokken door verschillende gilden van de citadel, waarvan de torens van de Shoemakers, Tailors en Tin Makers Guilds het meest indrukwekkend zijn. We bezoeken de kerk op de heuvel, maar niet voordat we de 175 overdekte trappen beklimmen die in 1642 zijn gebouwd om de schoolkinderen gemakkelijker toegang te bieden. Na het bezoek aan de oude stad Sighisoara, ga je naar een lokaal restaurant voor de lunch van verse salades, traditionele soepen, heerlijke sarmale, vlees, kip, groenten en andere regionale tarieven (drankjes en maaltijden op eigen kosten). Traditionele lunch kan worden geregeld in het middeleeuwse stadje Sighisoara.

Bogdan patiently and comfortably drove us all over beautiful Romania to fulfill our list of fascinating sights. In hindsight, I wish we had skipped Bucharest and gone immediately to Brasov after Bogdan picked us up at OTP. Such a walkable charming city! I think he hinted this suggestion during our planning, but would never have pushed us to do something we didn't think we wanted to. He was very considerate of our wishes. We didn't understand just how much time it would take to travel between locations within our 5 days in Romania! As we learned about each other during those car rides through such lush countryside and mountains, we greatly appreciated Bogdan's gentle, subtle nudging from one amazing sight to the next to keep us on track. He also had obviously made long-standing relationships with fellow travel guides and local inn keepers and all seemed to greet each other warmly. He provided a local perspective of both Romania and Vlad Dracula, architecture and traditions, along with plenty of authentic pride in his country. At one point, I asked him when the Renaissance came to Romania, and his response was that, "Romania was the front line for invaders from the East, so it took longer for them to have time to appreciate the arts." I hadn't thought about it that way. And if there was anything he didn't know, he would always research the answer. Because of Bogdan, we had a relaxing, no-stress Romania experience and I highly recommend his tours!

Was the perfect day for the perfect places in Transylvania. Brasov is the right place to base yourself of and this trip is ideal to cover the highlights in a tight but comprehensive way. From Brasov to Sighisoara to Sibiu all in a day and in time to take the train to Bucharest the same evening. The guide/driver Bogdan was well knowledgeable, very pleasant to talk to and of course a really safe pair of hands behind the wheels.

This was such a fantastic tour! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and such a great driver. We had the most wonderful day, had plenty of time to stroll through the city at our own pace and we took in all the amazing and rich history these places have. I would 100% recommend this tour and I’d absolutely sue them in the future!

Very pleasant company with Bogdan as professional and kind guide, but the amount of time travelling meant we only had very small amount of time in both places which was disappointing. The weather was not the best which was unfortunate and I appreciated Bogdan’s excellent driving in difficult conditions.
We took this tour with Mimi. She was so great. So much knowledge and very fun to travel with. Would recommend her for sure. As for the tour, it was amazing. So much history and beauty. Loved both towns but I truly loved Sighisoara. The old feel and the look of the town took my breath away.
