Van Albufeira: Hidden Gems & Horse Riding Tour van een halve dag

We were picked up from our hotel in Albufeira and taken to a couple of beautiful viewing spots, with interesting explanations about the area along the way. We stopped for photos before heading to the ranch, where we were introduced to the horses, donkey, and ponies. All of the animals looked very well cared for, the ranch was spotless, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. I rode Gitanna, who was gentle, calm, and an absolute pleasure. Our guide, Davide, was fantastic — always checking that everyone was comfortable and staying together. The ride lasted around 90 minutes and was a peaceful walk through the countryside, surrounded by birds and wildlife. There were options to go faster for more experienced riders, but the gentle pace suited our small group perfectly. Afterwards, we were driven back to our hotel. Overall, it was a truly lovely experience that I enjoyed so much.

The tour before hand was great as we were shown areas of interest in the Albufeira area, this lasted approximately 2 hours. But the location of where the horses were kept was truly beautiful, and from the outset you could tell they were well cared for. I was lucky enough to be paired up with Eliote who was a massive but very calm horse, we got to trek out for about 90 minutes in the most peaceful and serene park, with lots of birds and butterflies present. Definitely great value for money, don't worry about mounting the horse they've a step ladder 🤣😂

The tour lasted only about 1 hour 15 minutes instead of the announced 1 hour 40 minutes. At the beginning, you were asked only once if you had riding experience – that was it. Some were later allowed to gallop, while others who also had experience were not considered at all. During the tour, a guide rode ahead, occasionally turned around, but never came back to ask if everything was okay or if there were any questions. There was practically no support for the group. At the end of the tour, everyone simply descended without saying goodbye or a “thank you”. People have broken up without a word. A friendly finish and a little more attention to the participants would significantly enhance the tour overall. .

It was great and easy going. Our guide was great. Quick tour around Albufeira and then to the stables. The ride is for all experience levels. If you have none, you ride slow all the way with an option to go faster if you have experience.

A really good group of people running it, and well-managed on site. Their re-arranging the pick-up point the night before was a little bump in an otherwise very smooth journey.

Amazing trip the guide was vedy knoledgable about the area and took us to some quite and beautiful spots.then on to the horse riding part.this was very enjoyable from the banter between the guide and the stable hands very good humour and loiked after us really well

This was my fav day, Gianni , who picked us up outside our hotel at 8:50 on the dot was excellent. He leads out the horses on Domino , if you want to sign up for a gallop or 3 , which I did and was in heaven . My horse was named Vidalgo and my daughter was on Indio , she stayed on the walk . It was a beautiful ride out through the countryside and close to beach. Whoever loves horses I highly recommend this . When it’s all over and the sad face 😞 appears , Gianni takes you right back to hotel , he was so fun and showed us some lovely spots in Algarve ( Albufiera ) I will be back , I could have gone every morning for a wonderful start to the day . Don’t miss a morning sunny ride , gallop , you’ll be on a high for rest of the day . The drive by car and guide was overall very informative. We tried the recommendation of the restaurant in the harbour afterwards - and it was sensationally good. However, it was important for us first and foremost to ride after the ride, as my daughter had wanted this for her birthday. Very professional, we had a lot of fun and felt in good hands. Thank you.

The horses were calm and gave my 9yr old confidence to canter on our ride (she’s a capable rider). The riding guides were so friendly, and kind. Jonny gave us a great pre tour, with loads of local facts, but clearly was a horse rider/lover too which added to the fun.

The horseback riding through was lovely! The horses were very sweet and they are able to adjust the ride according to the riding level of the group. Our group included people from 5 years old to people in their late seventies and all were able to enjoy. You cannot ride on the beach during the high tourist season in the summer, but the ride is beautiful regardless. We saw many different kinds of birds, and I think I saw a flamingo flying. We arrived to our tour meeting spot late and were most interested in the horseback riding, so we did not do much "hidden gems" viewing. We were staying in the area so we had seen many of the beaches and rock formations already on other tours and hikes and were eager to get to the stables. Ricardo (I think!) our guide was also very kind and had great suggestions of things to do, and where to eat. He grew up and lives just a few minutes from Quinta da Saudade so was very knowledgable about the area and interesting to talk to! Our second guide (Paul I think!) was also great and came on the ride with us to help lead our youngest on his horse. We had a wonderful time!
