Vallei der Koningen, Er zijn 63 graven in de vallei , de pracht van de grootsheid van de architectuur die werd gebruikt voor de begrafenis, zijn er vele koningen begraven in deze vallei. De bekendste graven zijn koning Tutmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tut-Ankh-Amon, koning Ramses VI, koning Mrenptah en AmonhotepII.
Het is het enige koninklijke graf uit de Vallei der Koningen dat relatief intact is ontdekt. De ontdekking ervan in 1922 door Howard Carter haalde wereldwijd de krantenkoppen, en bleef dat doen toen de gouden artefacten en andere luxueuze voorwerpen die in deze tombe werden ontdekt naar buiten werden gebracht. Het graf en zijn schatten zijn iconisch voor Egypte, en de ontdekking van het graf wordt nog steeds beschouwd als een van de belangrijkste archeologische ontdekkingen tot op heden.
Ga dan naar de Mortuary Temple van Queen Hatshepsut. Gelegen tegenover de stad Luxor, wordt het beschouwd als een meesterwerk van de oude architectuur. Bewonder 3 enorme terrassen die boven de woestijnbodem uitsteken en in de kliffen van Deir el-Bahari
Verplaats je daarna naar de Kolossen van Memnon waar je de mortuariumtempel van Amenhotep III bij de Kolossen van Memnon zult zien, daarna terug naar je hotel.

Mohamed was our guide throughout the West Coast tour in Luxor. Very professional, speaks excellent Spanish, explained in detail much of the history of the Egyptians. We toured all the archaeological sites included in the excursion. He agreed to my schedule changes. I really recommend it and would choose it again.

We had a great time! The guide (Abdo) was very friendly and knowledgeable. The valley of the kings were very interesting and he had lots to talk to us about at the locations and whilst driving to tell us more about the history of the city and buildings. Great morning out! It wasn’t too busy and the lines soon went down. Morning was best for heat as it was still quite cool and breezy though it got hotter inside the tombs. I would bring an electric fan next time! We were picked up at 6 and dropped off at 11:30 so the time we spent there was perfect to see everything we wanted and not get too hot/tired. Best for the knowledge of the guide to support your visit and get the most out of it.

10/10. Amazing expierence and guide was perfect. Abdo (the guide) was great at explaining things gave us loads of time to take pictures and explore. Was very knowledgeable about all the inscriptions and very organised with all the tickets made it very stress free and a great trip. Got picked up at 6am which was perfect because the weather wasn’t too hot and finished just after 11. Made it perfect to not be too hot and see everything. Definitely recommend Abdo is the best guide
