Our guide was fabulous and made it such a special experience. He was very knowledgeable and really made you appreciate the beauty of that very special place.

We did this tour 2.5 hrs after the Lower tour. Both were informative and exciting. Our tour guide, Delbert, was very knowledgeable and personable. Would recommend this tour.

The tour company was great and our guide was so nice and knowledgeable! The ride to the canyon was very fun in the jacked-up comfy van.

The good parts: The canyon and our guide were outstanding. Our 20-minute bus ride to the canyon was very comfortable. The canyon is stunning and our guide helped us by offering to take our picture many times throughout the tour and showed us some of the best places to take pictures. He was knowledgeable about the canyon and very pleasant. The bad parts: The cost is too much for a 2-hour tour. They also recommended we use the bathroom before we left but they only have 2 bathrooms and they stack all the tours together so there is a ridiculously long line you have to wait in to use the bathroom. Also, as you tour the canyon, sand rains down on you from above and at times even blows in your eyes which makes it less pleasant. I recommend a hat.

Seeing Antelope Canyon was an amazing experience. Our guide was awesome and our entire family enjoyed it. Even our 19-year old grandson was totally enthralled with the experience.

The tour by the Indian guide was great; I’ll recommend this to friends. The bad part of this experience is from Viator’s incomplete instructions on where to meet our tour group. We almost missed our ‘non-refundable’ tour due to unclear directions. Viator should more specific in their directions so as to avoid ANY ambiguity when going to our meeting place.

Antelope canyon was beautiful! Guide made it unenjoyable! The minute he got on the bus he made it known If he was not tipped we would not get his best!!!! Said we would rock and roll right through unless paid to slow down. Would only allow pictures the right spot if paid $10 per person. Very expensive short walking tour with so many other great parks around!

We did the 10:40 AM hiking tour as we were unsure about the "bumpy ride" reviews and hiking in the heat of the day. One week prior it was predicted to be 93, we got lucky as clouds came in and our hike temperatures were between 60 and 70. The high was 76 for the high later that day, with only a breeze that morning versus the occasional unpredictable strong winds blowing sand in your face ( anywhere you hike consider taking a mask and at least sunglasses in case). We met at Upper Antelope Hogan Tours sign in booth, then drove about 1-2 miles on dirt road to another parking area. I do not recommend you drive in a low clearance car. I wore a light sunscreen long sleeve shirt with lots of pockets as you can't take a fanny pack, small backpack, bag, or anything. They said no metal water bottles but several had them (they work well as they have a loop on the top for easy carrying). I suggest tall socks as those without had lots of sand in their shoes that had ankle/no show socks (hich can create blisters). From the second picnic table/water station we were able to stroll around if we wanted, it was a good time to get to know people in your group as well as the guide. Then we walked downhill 1.2 miles to the top of a staircase. There were two stations along the walk with one picnic table and an igloo water container. At the second table we had 30 minutes to wait (in the sun) before descending down multiple steps and a ramp into the canyon. The time spent there would depend on the speed of the group hiking - if slower you would have less time to wait. HIGHLY recommend good shoes, good socks, a sun hat, either a sunscreen long sleeve shirt or sunscreen, and water. Roughly 3/4 of the hike was on a primitive road with deep sand - so a long hike in beach-like conditions. We are 69 years old and do hikes often, it was doable for us but not an easy flat walk until you were IN the canyon. The walk inside the canyon was incredible, flat, and 1/2 a mile long from entrance to exit per our satellite phone recording. The inside of the canyon is a bit indescribable inside, so I won't attempt to do so - go experience it! Please remember this is sacred space for the local tribe and be respectful. You can at times feel sand falling down on you in some areas so don't look straight up, and consider wearing a hat. You exit the canyon at a different point and hike up a steep narrow "path" in deep sand along an edge, and end up circling back to the picnic table you arrived at before descending the stairs into the canyon. Then you hike back 1.2 miles UP HILL, it is now later and warmer. The first 3/4 mile is in deep sand, the last 300 yards were the steepest uphill, but on a more solid surface - so be prepared for that last push to your parked vehicle. Then you give up your lanyard with your ticket to an employee walking around in the parking area and off you go - follow signs to depart on your own via the sandy road you came in by. At the entrance of the canyon I saw several different types of vehicles that drive you right to the entrance if you choose the transportation option: from open pickup trucks with padded bench-like seats covered with a canvas sunshade to enclosed air conditioned vans. When I looked at all the tours it did not explain what type of vehicle you would be driven in - that would be helpful to find out. When registering there was no phone number to call if you had questions. You can email and wait for a response. The hiking tour requires a pass (apx +$16 each). It seems there are multiple names for said pass: "entry fee" "hiking pass" etc. They are all one and the same, just look for the $15-$16 + tax fee. That is not needed as far as I can tell for the transportation tour. Our guide, Taylor, was of the Navajo tribe and had great history and culture facts to share. He was respectful, had perfect English although he also spoke the Navajo language. If I had one wish, it would be that there was a way for everybody to hear the guide; the people in the back of the group could not hear what was being said. Taylor was also GREAT in taking photos for everybody. We hope to come again, but perhaps not this fall when we again drive through AZ as it is monsoon season and flooding can create a severe flood risk several times a month from mid June to the end of September. We will be driving through early August and returning to the west coast the 3rd week of September; right in the midst of the season. NOTE: we saw a wonderful prediction for weather for the rest of the day, so after lunch we drove to Horseshoe Bend ....and right back out (they did not make us pay) as the conditions appeared questionable. A wind storm hit about 8-10 minutes later while we were on the highway, with high winds and some rain. We were SO GLAD WE WERE NOT OUT IN THOSE CONDITIONS HIKING!! Brutal - sounded like our truck was being sandblasted and visibility vanished not far into the distance. We went to Horseshoe Bend the next morning and it was perfect....Have fun!

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Antelope Canyon! The canyon itself is breathtaking and even more beautiful than we imagined. Every view felt like a work of art, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. A special thank you to our guide, Arthur. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional throughout the tour. He shared interesting information about the canyon, helped us take great photos, and made the entire experience enjoyable and memorable. Arthur’s passion and expertise really made a difference. Guide said he would just roll through unless paid to slow down. Would stand in the best picture places unless paid $10 a person for the picture spots Canyon itself was beautiful but expensive for a short walking tour
