Beschrijving
Deze rondleidingen bestrijken de hele UNESCO-erfgoedroute van wierook van Ubar naar Wadi Dawkah (bomen), de haven van Al Baleed en de Sumhuram (Khor Ruri) havens van waaruit het naar de wereld werd verscheept. Eens werd wierook verhandeld als goud en zilver.

Dit is de oude stad en de haven van Al Baleed (8e eeuw tot 16e eeuw na Christus), dat een van de 2 havens was om wierook aan de wereld te verzenden
Het museum heeft artefacten opgegraven uit de oude sites van Al Baleed, Sumharam en Ubar (Waber)
Een van de 2 havens, die in het verleden wierook hebben verzonden en zich in Khor Rori bevindt (4e eeuw voor Christus tot de 5e eeuw na Christus)
Archeologische site van Ubar is een belangrijk onderdeel van Frankincense Trail, ongeveer 200 km van de stad Salalah
Dit is het park met wierookbomen waar bezoekers de echte wierookboom in de Dhofar-regio Oman kunnen zien, waar deze beroemd om is.

Desert sunset, tour that deserves to be done. From Salalah visit to the park of incense trees, stop at the UNESCO site , but we did not enter . Finally, the tyres deflate and the journey over the dunes begins. To see the sunset well it is better to look for a high dune. I was very annoyed by the exaggerated display of off-road vehicles up and down the highest dunes to please tourists. A couple of cars got covered up in fact. Mohammed Ali was our fantastic guide. Cheerful and helpful, Arabic music and stories about Oman. And no car shows! Finally Bedouin dinner, we ate very well although I expected a "dining room" a little more characteristic.

The Frankincense Trail was a grand experience from the museum to the tree. Realizing the importance of this incense in trade through the centuries, helped one to appreciate the history of Oman, particularly Salalah. The guide was knowledgeable and curteous. Stopping to purchase camel meat to eat was an added treat. I highly recommend this tour to all traveling through Salalah.
