Great cathedrals to visit. Both are spectacular but Monreale has the edge for me. Wonderful bible stories in mosaics, so much gold on show. Do the visits with a guide so nothing is missed. We all have missing loved ones, light a candle, treasure the memories. Thank you cathedrals
Superb cathedral, richly decorated with 8000 square meters of mosaic. Representations of the Bible can be seen on all the walls and the ceiling of the cathedral. Ideally, come in the morning when there are not too many people to allow you to quietly admire the mosaics. With a guide the tour is easier to understand the religious representations on the walls.

Brilliant to see the cathedral in Cefalu alongside Monreale. To the untrained eye the mosaics in Cefalu are not quite as impressive but the relatively plain interior of the cathedral is actually welcome and might exacerbate the features of the mosaics even more. Cefalu Cathedral also contains some really different and stunning stained glass. And we felt that there was a much clearer tour to follow in Cefalu than Monreale. But that’s nitpicking: trying to see both!

Our tour consisted of visiting the cathedrals of Palermo and Monreale and the main churches of Palermo. There was also a tour of the Ballaro market. All with an excellent Guide and Transport Service. Also throughout our tours we were left with our privacy anyway. The pick-up Service at the end of every single visit was impeccable. In short, we received an excellent Service both transport and guide so I highly recommend this Service.

Must visit, even if very different from each other. Monreale's is unsurpassed! Especially the Cloister and the outer back of the cathedral are wonderful.

Magnificent place unique in the world exciting and incredible .... you are mesmerized by so much art and beauty!.. Too bad that the access to the.cathedral.is in a pitiful state..rutted road full of holes garde rail.divelti..I wonder how you can ignore this state of regrettable neglect....visitors from all over the world will leave with enormous admiration for the excellence of ancient times....all else will be the impression of current efficiency....
