Ontdek het verhaal van Sydney tijdens deze door experts geleide tour met kleine groepen (max. 12 gasten), terwijl u alle belangrijke bezienswaardigheden van de stad bezoekt. Perfect voor degenen die net zijn aangekomen, maar ook de lokale bevolking en degenen die dieper willen gaan in het leren over de Australische geschiedenis, cultuur, samenleving en First Nations mensen. Vanaf Customs House hoor je over de kolonisatie van Sydney door de Britten - en hoe hun komst de oorspronkelijke bewoners beïnvloedde. Uw gids zal u een scala aan perspectieven bieden op de ontwikkeling van Sydney, waarbij Aboriginal-leiders, Britse gouverneurs, veroordeelden en ondernemers worden geïntroduceerd, evenals meer recente aankomsten. Je eindigt met een biertje bij een populaire brouwerij met uitzicht op de Bridge, het Opera House en Sydney Harbour. Onder het genot van een drankje zal je gastheer je nog meer aanbevelingen geven om je tijd in Sydney speciaal te maken – dingen die je niet in een gids vindt! Loop in een kleine groep door de straten zodat je niet vecht om je gids te zien en te horen of op het voetpad te blijven.

We beginnen bij Customs House waar je een schaalmodel van heel Sydney ziet en waar we zullen lopen (ongeveer 4 km / 2,5 mijl). Je leert ook enkele Aboriginal-plaatsnamen voor delen van Sydney en verkent het nieuwe district direct achter Customs House.
We lopen langs het "Rum Hospital", dat nu bestaat uit NSW Parliament, het Sydney Hospital en de Mint.
We stoppen buiten Hyde Park Barracks terwijl je het verhaal hoort van de constructie en de beruchte architect. We gaan de kazerne niet in.
We gaan kort de Royal Botanic Gardens binnen om de locatie van het voormalige Garden Palace en de gouverneur Phillip Fountain te zien.
We gaan kort het Queen Victoria Building binnen, maar vooral om het te zien en om eventuele gasten de badkamers te laten gebruiken.
We stoppen in Hyde Park waar je een geweldig uitzicht hebt op St Mary's Cathedral. We gaan de kathedraal niet in en gaan er niet dichtbij (ongeveer 50 meter van het gebouw).
We stoppen in Martin Place en Pitt St om naar het General Post Office te kijken en het verhaal te horen van de controversiële constructie en het ontwerp.
We stoppen in Martin Place om te horen over de ANZAC Cenotaph en de betrokkenheid van Australië bij de Eerste Wereldoorlog.
We zullen tegen het einde van de tour door een deel van The Rocks lopen en de Nurses Walk, Jack Mundey Place en Lower George St.
We zullen het Opera House zien van waar we de tour beëindigen en bij Campbell's Cove. We gaan het operagebouw niet binnen, maar u hoort het verhaal van de bouw ervan.
We zullen de Sydney Harbour Bridge zien waar de tour eindigt. We gaan niet de brug op als onderdeel van de tour, maar het is een korte wandeling vanaf het eindpunt.

We loved the ultimate walking tour we did with Andrew and Local Sauce. Andrew was extremely knowledgeable about NSW political and cultural history, shared the fascinating city lore, patiently answered our questions, showed us great photo spots, and just made it a fun day. We highly recommend this tour.
Great tour! Just right amount of information and breaks at the right places
Our guide, Jake, really made this Sydney walking tour fantastic! His deep knowledge of both its history and current culture made it so interesting. He was super approachable and had answers for all our questions. In just three hours, we explored a lot of historical sites and hidden gems we never would have found alone. Jake even provided visuals and a small treat to help us imagine what life was like back then. The walk itself was quite relaxing, and we had ample opportunities for bathroom breaks. We wrapped up the tour with a refreshing drink at a pub, which was the perfect ending to a wonderful tour!

This walking tour was a perfect start to the trip after first getting there. Matt was so much fun. He is very informative and made the tour very engaging with games, fun facts, quiz questions. He was understanding and patient when I was running late after arriving into Sydney late! I would do this again. Highly recommend!! A very nice and welcoming person!
