De meerderheid van onze gasten geniet van een rit door Inverness voor uitzicht op de rivier, het herenhuis en het kasteel. Er is natuurlijk de mogelijkheid om in Inverness te stoppen om de kathedraal te bekijken of een wandeling door de stad te maken als u dat wenst.
Een populaire stop tijdens de tour is Culloden Battlefield, de locatie van de laatste veldslag op Britse bodem. Er is hier een heel goed bezoekerscentrum met een 360°-bioscoop, waardoor je midden in de strijd zit. Het alternatief is om een wandeling rond het slagveld te maken, de cairn te bezoeken en een kijkje te nemen in het Leanach-huisje.
Vanaf het slagveld is het slechts een korte rit naar het Culloden Viaduct en Clava Cairns, waar een selectie staande stenen te zien is en een interessant voorbeeld is van een goed bewaard gebleven begraafplaats uit de Bronstijd.
Cawdor Castle is een van onze favoriete kastelen in Schotland. Het wordt nog steeds gebruikt als gezinswoning en de vriendelijke eigenaar verhuist in april om gasten de kans te geven door haar kasteel en het terrein te dwalen. Toptip: wij wandelen graag door de ommuurde tuinen.

Gavin was fabulous! Our family of four spent the day with Gavin as our driver and guide and had a fantastic day! The lessons in Scottish Whisky were particularly enjoyable. Loch Ness, Urquardt Castle, Clava Cairns and Cawdor Castle were all part of our tour. Pickup and dropoff were seamless and we saw and learned a lot during our day. And a special thanks for the tips on Mrs. Tilly's, Tunnocks and the chicken curry pie! An unforgettable day!
We enjoyed our day-long private tour of the Scottish Highlands. The tour was arranged by Gavin and Peter was our guide. Gavin is an outstanding communicator. He went out of his way to find out what we were interested in seeing and doing and tailored our tour accordingly - which we appreciated and which made the day especially meaningful. Peter is a wonderful guide. He is calm and has a lovely way about him. We never felt rushed or pressured. He is a lifelong resident of the area we toured and was able to share lots of information and insights about the history, culture and life in the region. An unexpected and delightful highlight was a stop at a self-serve farm stand where we enjoyed fresh milk and ice cream. He fit that in after he mentioned it and we expressed interest - which was a nice touch. Highly recommend this company and tour.
Our family group of 10 chose this private tour rather than an excursion through our cruise line, and we’re glad we did. Fiona was an extremely knowledgeable guide and a delightful person to spend the day with! We were able to customize the sights we wanted to see, which worked out well for our large group. A visit to Loch Ness has always been toward the top of my bucket list and this tour did not disappoint. I dealt with Gavin who was always responsive to my requests and questions. For example not long before the tour date Gavin kindly switched vehicles when we decided one of our group needed more legroom. Our guide Iain was waiting for us just outside of the cruise terminal looking sharp in his kilt. We had a wonderful day due to Iain. He was funny, informative, a safe driver and was full of suggestions regarding options with our itinerary. We enjoyed a beautiful day to explore Urquhart Castle and grounds before we boarded the boat to cruise Loch Ness. Following that we had lunch at the cafeteria/restaurant at Culloden Battlefield relaxing and warming up on Scotch broth and fresh baked bread. Our final stop of the day took us to Cawdor Castle and its amazing gardens that happened to be in full bloom during our visit in early May. We then enjoyed a wee bit of whiskey to cap off the day. I hope to return one day with my granddaughter and have Iain again as our guide. Hopefully by then he will have retrieved his trapped charging cable to his EV from the charger at Culloden Battlefield! Thanks again Gavin and Iain!

We had such a great day with Willie. We didn’t want it to end. Saw some amazing sights, had some great food and scotch tastings. Got a hike in. Saw Loch Ness and beautiful cows. Fun conversations. We had a wonderful time on this excursion while we were in port for the day. Our driver and guide were excellent. Gavin was very helpful and easy to work with. They accommodated our family of 9, including 2 with wheelchairs. The tour was interesting, informative and pleasant. The timing worked perfectly with our time in port.
