Eerst duiken we in de fascinerende geschiedenis van de Turda-zoutmijn, een van 's werelds oudste en meest unieke zoutmijnen. De mijn heeft een rijke geschiedenis die teruggaat tot het Romeinse Rijk. De zoutwinning uit deze mijn begon tijdens de Romeinse bezetting in 107 na Christus en bleef eeuwenlang een belangrijke zoutbron voor de regio. Stap binnen in deze opmerkelijke ondergrondse wereld en bewonder de opvallende zoutformaties, enorme hallen en indrukwekkende machines. Leer meer over de fascinerende geschiedenis van de mijn en luister naar de verhalen van degenen die hier eeuwen geleden werkten.
Vervolgens gaan we naar het majestueuze kasteel van Corvin, een van de mooiste kastelen van Europa. Het kasteel werd oorspronkelijk gebouwd door de edelman Voicu van Hunedoara in de 14e eeuw, maar het werd later uitgebreid en omgevormd tot een formidabel fort door zijn zoon, John Hunyadi. Het kasteel speelde een belangrijke rol bij de verdediging van de regio tegen het Ottomaanse rijk en was een vitaal militair bolwerk voor het Koninkrijk Hongarije. Stap terug in de tijd terwijl je door de zalen en binnenplaatsen van het kasteel dwaalt, bewonder de ingewikkelde gotische architectuur en leer over het legendarische verleden van het kasteel. Ten slotte verkennen we de grootsheid van het Alba Carolina-fort, een prachtig voorbeeld van militaire architectuur in Vauban-stijl. Ontdek de geschiedenis van dit indrukwekkende fort en zijn rol in het verleden van Roemenië terwijl we de vele binnenplaatsen, wallen en bastions verkennen. In 1918 speelde Alba Iulia een cruciale rol in de eenwording van Roemenië toen de Grote Nationale Vergadering, bestaande uit meer dan 1.200 afgevaardigden uit het hele land, in de stad bijeenkwam om de eenwording van Transsylvanië met Roemenië te verklaren. Dit evenement wordt beschouwd als een van de belangrijkste momenten in de moderne Roemeense geschiedenis en wordt elk jaar op 1 december gevierd als de nationale feestdag van Roemenië. I recommend it 100%! I went with my daughter who is 16 years old and we loved it! Our guide was George and he was wonderful! I recommend the tour since it not only saves you from having to drive and such, but it also takes you to see things like the gypsy houses and explains the history and curiosities along the way! Moreover, you eat at places where you know the food is good! I repeat! I recommend it 100%!

Its a full day,theres a lot of sitting in a car but thats ok because there is much to see.we had lunch in a restaurant ehich was a good idea because we got back late

The whole trip was very interesting, and Andrei, our guide, was both informative and helpful. It was clear that he genuinely enjoys his job, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I had a very enjoyable day trip visiting Turda Salt Mine, Corvin Castle, and Alba Iulia Fortress with George as our guide.
