Deze exclusieve ervaring stelt je in staat jezelf onder te dompelen in het typisch Toscaanse landschap, vergezeld door mij, al 3 generaties lang een deskundige truffeljager, en mijn trouwe honden. Tijdens de excursie leer je de oude truffeljachttechnieken kennen die door mijn familie zijn doorgegeven, en leer je dit zeldzame en kostbare ingrediënt, typisch voor de Toscaanse keuken, beter kennen. Je loopt met mij en mijn honden door het bos, en dit is het meest fascinerende deel van de route, waar je mijn honden in actie kunt zien! Hoewel wij alleen de geur van het bos zullen waarnemen, zullen mijn honden het verborgen aroma van truffels kunnen ruiken en ons dit kostbare ingrediënt kunnen geven waar u op de meest authentieke manier van kunt genieten. Aan het einde van de Tour ontvang je zeer verse truffels, inclusief de zojuist gevonden truffels, en instructies over hoe je ze kunt bewaren en koken.

I, my family and friends keeps coming back to truffle hunting with Domenico. He’s knowledge of the profession, the forest and his respect for the nature is unique, So far 4 hunts and going back again in November 🙏
I have to admit that I had reservations about going on a truffle hunt while on vacation in Italy. My wife had booked this excursion thinking it would be something different to try. I am so glad she did. Dominico was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. He is very personable and down to earth. His dog Cuba (Coo-ba) was amazing! She found her first truffle within the first 2 minutes! She was so fast, we couldn't help to wonder if the truffle had been planted. Of course after that first one, she was digging up and finding more very quickly and all over the place! Dominico really knows what he's doing and explained everything you would ever want to know about truffle hunting. He apologized for his English as he had only started studying English in 2024. We were impressed with how well we were able to communicate with him after only having a year of learning English so there wasn't an issue with communication. The hunt lasted maybe 45 minutes or so which was plenty of time. Dominico gave us some truffles to take with us and explained the best way to prepare them. It is mind blowing as to how much these little fungi cost, so we didn't waste one morsel. They are very good and they reminded us of Morel mushrooms that we have back at home in illinois. If you are looking for something to do while staying at San Gimignano, we highly recommend giving Dominico a call and have him take you on a hunt. A great guy, a great dog and a great experience!
It included less walking than we expected, which was good! Guide was great and his dog was wonderful!
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Domenico was a great tour guide, with lots of information about truffles, and so cool to see the dog gather truffles. We found lots and had a very interactive experience. Even got to go home with a few truffles to have later!

We had a great time hunting for truffles. It’s an educational and fun experience and our daughter loved it too. Domenica was really friendly and his doggies are so smart and cute!
Had a wonderful time! Domenico was an excellent guide, but Dita and Cuba(coo-ba) were the stars sniffing out all the truffles. My wife (5.5 months pregnant) had no problems walking the forest and watching the team gather truffles.
This was such a trip highlight! We went with our two daughters (5 and 6 years old) and they adored the dogs alone! Watching the dogs search and find truffles was a fascinating experience and learning about the growing process, how the dogs are trained, and seeing it all happen so naturally was all wonderful! Our guide was a third generation truffle hunter, and so proud of his work! He gave us such an authentic experience and it will be one we all remember forever!
Nice experience. Truffles are really found even in bad seasons thanks to dogs. I liked being an actor , guiding the dog etc etc etc and we hang out with truffles
Domenico was great! Shared his generational truffle history and knowledge… as his exceptional dogs. Well worth the $ and time spent! In beautiful wooded setting which was easy to traverse.
