Istrië - het hartvormige schiereiland waar Continentaal Kroatië en de Adriatische Zee samenkomt - krijgt u de gelegenheid om het prachtige en gevarieerde Kroatische landschap te zien. Leun achterover en geniet van onze eendaagse tour naar een regio met gewaardeerde gastronomische erkenningen (met verse zeevruchten, prime truffels, wilde asperges, eersteklas olijfolie en bekroonde wijnen) en zodra we het besprenkelen met een historische charme van een middeleeuwse kastelen en steden waar u echt een klein stukje hemel zult hebben.

Ochtend vertrek vanuit Zagreb - ophalen bij het hotel om 8.30 uur. Anderhalf uur rijden naar onze eerste stop in het kasteel op de top van Trsat (fortificatie), net boven de prachtige kustplaats Rijeka en de op twee na grootste stad van Kroatië. Het kasteel zelf is een van de oudste forten in het kasteel van Kroatië, gesticht door het Huis van Frankopan - een van de beroemdste en oudste Kroatische adellijke families.
bezoek hier de middeleeuwse heuveldorp Motovun. De locatie, met uitzicht op het uitgestrekte bos van Motovun, rijk aan truffels en wijngaarden op de heuvel, maakt het een van de mooiste en meest unieke mediterrane oude steden. Na het verkennen van de stenen van een oud middeleeuws fort, heb je tijd voor de lunch (optioneel). We kunnen je zeker versieren om je smaakpapillen voor te bereiden op de ware smaakexplosie, want je zult de mogelijkheid hebben om een traditionele Istrische truffellunch te ervaren.
Opatija - Deze elegante bestemming, ook bekend als de koningin van de Adriatische Zee, heeft de langste toeristische traditie in Kroatië. Meer dan 170 jaar lang. Het begon allemaal in de late 19e eeuw, toen Opatija, vanwege de opmerkelijke aanwezigheid van natuurlijke remedies in de bodem, het water of het klimaat van het gebied, officieel de status van Koninklijk kuuroord kreeg in het Oostenrijks-Hongaarse rijk. We really enjoyed our day trip to Istria. Sasa was our guide and he was lovely and very accommodating. Motovun is a wonderful medieval town providing terrific views of the surrounding countryside. Sasa arranged for a truffle tasting with a local vendor. We had a tasty, truffle centric lunch at Konoba Mondo in Motovun before travelling to Opatija. Wish we could have spent a little more time exploring Opatija but road construction along the way caused traffic delays and meant we were running late. It was a long day (made even longer for Sasa who had to return to Zagreb late in the evening to deliver our camera which we had accidentally left in his car. ) This trip is recommended for its scenery, the truffles in Motovun and the harbor in Opatija. Sasa was a good driver and guide who went above and beyond.

Thanks to our friend who recommended an excellent tour guide Yakob .Our short stay in Zagreb wouldn’t be this fun and amazing experience without him.Yakob is such a charmer in all about Croatian history. We took this day tour because my friend were so thrilled to know the “reel to real” truffles history. It was a such a beautiful sunny day which addup the beauty of those places , the charm of the Opatijia Riviera . The medieval town of Motuvon and where we had our lunch in a local family run resto overlooking the mountains tried truffles yummy pasta and the bread freshly baked from the stone oven thats smell so heavenly . This tour is highly commendable 👍👍👍

Excellent touring experience with Jakov! I hired Jakov - based on his ratings from his clients - the best decision I made as we (my daughter and I) planned our holiday tour of Croatia. <p>It is quite a long drive from Zagreb passing through some very spectacular, mountainous scenery. The guide Marko was young and very enthusiastic and had an in-depth knowledge of Croatian life, including the economics and politics of the country, and is a great ambassador for Croatia. The main highlight of the tour, apart from the scenery was the hilltop town of Motovun where we could have stayed a bit longer.</p>
