De beste manier om Savanah te zien is door je mouwen op te stropen en er doorheen te dineren! Bij Flavours Food Tours leggen we niet alleen de geschiedenis van de stad Savannah, haar cultuur en architectuur uit, maar verbinden we die geschiedenis met de keuken en plengoffers die iconisch zijn voor het Zuiden en Lowcountry. Je zou verbaasd zijn hoeveel je kunt leren van een mondvol Shrimp N Grits en Fried Green Tomatoes! Onze tours zijn klein, persoonlijk en intiem. Een beetje alsof je een vriendelijke, deskundige lokale inwoner belt om je rond te leiden. Onze lunchtour is vullend (genoeg voor een maaltijd) en bezoekt maximaal vijf foodie-plekken met een alcoholisch drankje bij de prijs inbegrepen. Al onze restaurantpartners onderscheiden zich als uitstekende voorbeelden van voedingsmiddelen die iconisch zijn voor het Zuiden. Schep wat sfeer op met onze zachte Beignets, beroemde Shrimp ‘n Grits & romige, dromerige She-Crab Soup. Sluit het af met een klassiek dessert. Deze foodtour is voor de reiziger, niet voor de toerist. Doe met ons mee en zeg dat je je een weg door Savannah hebt gegeten.

Sta op en schitter! Het is tijd om Savannah te verkennen en je ontmoet je gids voor koffie en zachte, warme, poedervormige suikerachtige heerlijkheden in de vorm van beignets in de buurt van ons startpunt. De True South Lunch Tour komt samen aan de Riverfront in Rousakis Riverfront Plaza (dicht bij Huey's restaurant). Zoek je lachende gids in een perzikkleurig GA-shirt en het Flavours Food Tours-logo. Deze tour richt zich op KEUKEN: genieten van voedsel afkomstig uit het zuiden en de savanne, het leren kennen van de geschiedenis achter de oorsprong ervan en het begrijpen van de cultuur en geschiedenis van deze regio. We lopen ongeveer 3,2 km door het historische noordelijke deel van Savannah. Voedsel dat we gaan proberen zijn onder meer koffie, beignets, gebakken groene tomaten, garnalen en/of andere hoofdgerechten uit het zuiden, She Crab Soup, Pecan Pie en meer! Deze tour bevat een cocktail (of mocktail voor niet-drinkers), dus ga lekker in de vakantiemodus en doe het wat rustiger aan... je bent nu in het zuiden!

A good tour guide that is knowlegible makes all the difference. The 3 hour tour went very well because we walked, sat , ate in comfortable environments (although the outdoor temperature was hot).

Every stop provided amazing food and portion sizes that left us genuinely full. Jessica was a wonderful guide and provided us with tons of local information and even more recs for future meals. We had a delightful time with Caeli. She made the whole tasty experience lots of fun. She was organized, entertaining and informed. She shared stories gently as they were pertinent. Us two ladies over 75 appreciated the stops to sit and rest in the shade. We loved learning about the impact of SCAD on Savannah downtown. My only wish is that we could have ended the tour closer to the starting point and our car….we were tired from the heat and the walk.

This was well worth our time and money. We had the chance to eat some local fare we may not have tried on our own. The food served wasn't small portions. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the food and history of Savannah. Do not hesitate to put this on your Savannah itinerary.

We really enjoyed our food tour in Savannah. Michael was our guide and he was a wealth of knowledge about Savannah and the origins of the tasty items we sampled. Our group was a total of eight which we felt was a perfect size. We are very glad we took the morning tour as it gets a bit warm in the early afternoon.

Our guide Jessica was friendly, knowledgeable, and made every stop interesting with stories about Savannah’s culture and history. She is personable with the ability to engage the tour group and we felt like we made some new friends. The 5 locations with excellent food selections gave us a real taste of the city. We appreciated her making sure that different options for allergies were available. We especially loved the Southern specialties and learning about the restaurants and local traditions behind each dish. The walking pace was comfortable, and we enjoyed exploring areas we probably would have missed on our own. We would highly recommend this walking tour to anyone visiting Savannah who wants a fun, delicious experience.

Great food tour! Jessica was friendly and took good care of us. The foods were delicious -- shrimp & grits, Beignets, fried green tomatoes, she-crab soup, cheese croquettes, and ice cream. We were with a nice group of people and enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend!
