Tromso Skjervoy walvissen kijken op RIB boot

Beschrijving
Duur : 12 uur (05: 20 - 17: 30)

The tour starts in summer from Henningsvær, Lofoten, not Skjervøy! A wonderful experience to be among whales in the sea and observe them. Katie also provided us with a lot of information about the orcas and pilot whales. I really liked that they were very respectful towards the animals and gave them their space to avoid stressing them out. It was so beautiful that I had to take the tour multiple times.
To be honest, the tour itself isn’t a short one. It took a total of 8 hours just on bus to and fro. The actual RIB time is approximately 2 hours. Do expect as they say it’s extremely cold on the RIB. To my perspective, it’s all about luck l, though I must say the crew had incredible experience in the search. However do remember at this time, the daylight only lasts a few hours and everyone joining the whale are all on the same spot. So, when one boat finds a whale, the rest would rush in and the whale dives out. It really depends on whether you are lucky to be the first boat to see the whale. Frankly, I do not recommend this activity if you starts in Tromso. But it would be a good one if you do not have any other activities on, or weather conditions in Tromso get terrible, then you can consider. I still rank higher though because I can feel the courtesy and efforts from the crew, and a bonus on the famous Norwegian shrimps!
Once in a lifetime experience, highly recommend! Our skipper Hans Christian was awesome really knowledgeable about the Orcas and followed the pods very respectfully. Was one of the best days of my life thank you I can’t wait to come back again but only if HC drives the RIB ☺️
Good experience overall, but the rib boat was insanely uncomfortable. The seats are right up against one another so you are straddling the person in front of you and there is someone straddling you from behind. I was stuck behind a 6’+ tall guy, so as a 5’5” tall woman, I couldn’t see much unless it was on the side of the boat. Even then, when trying to take photos/videos of the whales, everyone’s elbows were in the way also trying to take photos/videos, so it was very difficult to see overall. We were lucky and saw humpback whales, orca whales, and even 2 fin whales- which was AWESOME as I love whales, but truthfully we were so uncomfortable the whole time that we couldn’t wait for the boat ride to be over. Also- they said you can bring on your waterproof backpack but I truly don’t know where it would have gone as there was literally no room for it (we left it in the locker rooms which they locked while we were out on the tour). I’m rating them 4 stars because it was organized very well, the gear they provided kept us very warm, everyone was very friendly, but I took off 1 star because of how cramped and uncomfortable the rib boat ride was.
Absolutely mesmerising and a fantastic but freezing freezing cold trip on the rib. Def not suitable for any children my personal opinion. Very hard going so for adults only. Very well organised and very friendly. Ensured that we got to see the orcas and if they weren’t around connecting boats liaise with each other so everyone doesn’t miss out. A great trip all round.
It was an amazing and unforgetable journey! The equipment provided by the company was quite helpful and guaranteed our warmth and safety, and galloping on the ocean sitting in a RIB boat was quite new and exciting to me. We rode with captain Katie, she was very kind and sweet and introduced everything cafefully before we set off, and with her nice spot we luckily saw fin whales, orcas, and humpback whales in just one day! She also kindly took care of two passengers who suffered from seesick and tried her best to make all the people comfortable. This journey really exceeded my expectation and really touched me deeply!
I’m glad that I did this because I desperately wanted to see orcas, and I got to (and humpback whales); but, despite being dressed warmly (merino wool layers and socks, Woolrich arctic parka, hand warmers in my gloves, alpaca wool hat etc) I was painfully cold. I think that the suits we were given by Arctic Adventures were not up to the necessary standard to actually keep us comfortable. I went on a night snowmobile trip with the Snow Hotel in Kirkenes and their attire was much warmer - it might be worth having a look at their’s? I understand that the sea is colder than land, but there has to be something better than what Arctic Adventures is providing. I was so excited for this activity, but after we saw the orcas I just really wanted to be comfortable again and I hated that it took so long for the boat to get back to shore (simply because of the cold). Also, we were given little information about the orcas or whales when the boat was still - I expected the guide to be informative (not just a boat driver) so this was very disappointing. Ultimately, I would recommend this trip simply because we got to see orcas and this was worth the discomfort/pain. However, Arctic Adventures needs to do better with attire and information provided by guides. Also, whoever was filling the cups of hot chocolate was super frugal with it.
It was wonderful, we've seen a lot of orcas, and even an eagle. It was amazing, and our guide Gabi was very friendly and willing to teach us about the behavior of the fauna. Super indico.
It was a amazing where from America(florida) and never had this experience where were from 10 out of 10 experience
Thank you for your review. We are glad we created some memories!
The whale watching tour is a combination of nature, adventure and adrenaline. The boats sail around for 2.5 hours on the sea where various whales and orcas swim around. We saw several orcas of all sizes during the route and even spotted a few whales. In addition, the boat shoots over the waves at a gigantic speed which makes the tour very exciting. During the tour you will be packed thick and generally well taken care of.
We are happy you got to see whales and had a great time at sea. Thank you for your review!
