Transport naar Holbox

Driver was awesome. But, please share times that ferry operates, cost and any other pertinent information. We arrived late into airport only to find out ferry was closed and we might not be able to get to the island til morning. Not something you want to worry about after traveling all day!

Miguel took us to exchange money and get a bite to eat before the 2 hr drive to Chiquila to catch the ferry. As we drove through the small towns and villages, he showed us all the special places along the road. He even stopped to get some cheese bread for us to sample. We needed a restroom, and he stopped to find us one as quickly as possible! He was our first impression of Mexico, and we couldn't have picked a better ambassador! What a way to start our vacation!!

This ride was one of the cheapest options from the airport and was worth it. The drive is 2.5 hours on 2 lane roads. We felt really safe and were pleased with this choice.

The pick up was messed up and the substitute driver arrived almost 1 1/2 hours pass our pick up. That was bad but he was a great driver! Careful and steady and considerate. We would highly recommend Jesus . He had a translater on his phone so the language barrier was no problem. We took the highway to Holbox for an extra $12.00 and that was a great choice. No traffic and a separated two lane road. After the highway we drove through several small villages with gigantic holes in the road. Jesus navigated these with skill , all in the dark!

Transfer was late leaving airport for ferry. Driver stopped at a market switched driver who then moved us from Viator van to pvt car non-English speaking driver who then drove coworker home before resuming our trip while seemingly checking phone for texts while driving; unable to assure us we would make ferry on time; nerve wracking! Arrived an hour late just prior to final ferry! Will take a taxi next time!

We're glad we have Holbox Transfer and Tours a second chance. On the way back, the driver messaged us that he was already 10 min early at the Chiqulia ferry dock. He was waiting there, with our name on the sign, and we were on the road within a minute. He took us in under two hours directly to the airport. Air conditioning and drinking water provided. On the way to Holbox, we had to wait for half an hour until the driver showed up, although we messaged the service that we'd arrive with carry-on only. Then the van took us on a little detour to a gas station where we were switched over to a sedan. Without the wait and detour, we would have been on Holbox one ferry earlier. Also, no drinking water. So so A/C. Again, it was all fine the second time.

Booking online was easy, was able to add friends to the booking. All seemed well as I received email updates with confirmation. Waited an hour at the airport and was unable to contact operator. Called booking agent who also couldn’t reach operator. Driver never showed up.

Angel was amazing! Very professional, on time, and a great driver. The car was clean and comfortable.
