Je wordt door een professionele gids uit je hotel in Basov gehaald en gaat naar de meest spectaculaire weg van Europa - Transfagarasan. We stoppen eerst en bezoeken het Carta-klooster, gebouwd in laatgotische stijl, door de cisterciënzer monniken die vanuit Bourgondië - Frankrijk naar Transsylvanië kwamen. Transfagarasan Highway is de meest spectaculaire en mooiste bergweg van Europa, genoeg om op de Britse motorshow Top Gear te verschijnen. Transfagarasan Highway is misschien wel "de beste weg ter wereld", zoals Top Gear-presentator Jeremy Clarkson beweerde. Het is een weg die de bergen in gaat en Transsylvanië met Valachije verenigt. Geweldige scènes, luidruchtige watervallen, het Glaciar Balea-meer, zorgen ervoor dat je je daar goed voelt en de stress van de stad vergeet. Tijdens de winter, tussen de maanden november en juli, gaan we met een busje omhoog naar het hotel Balea Cascada 1446, vanwaar we de kabelbaan nemen (vanaf hier is de weg afgesloten vanwege sneeuw). De prijs van de kabelbaan is niet inbegrepen.

Het is de meest spectaculaire en mooiste bergweg van Europa, genoeg om op de Britse motorshow Top Gear te staan. Fantastische scènes, lawaaierige watervallen, het meer van Glaciar Balea, zorgen ervoor dat je je goed voelt en vergeten de stress van de stad
Het is een glaciaal gletsjermeer op een hoogte van 2034 m op de berg Fagaras. Omgeven door bergen biedt het een wonderbaarlijk zicht rondom. Het heeft een maximale diepte van 11 m en zijn schillen zijn te zien, hoe je forel kunt zwemmen. In de winter , vlakbij het meer, bouw je het ijshotel, een ijskerk en een iglo. we kunnen ze bezoeken en kamers en koele ijsbedden uitproberen.

- Tussen 1 november en 1 juli, na 1460, is de weg afgesloten, hier in Hotel Balea Cascada beklimmen we onze auto en nemen we de kabelbaan naar het meer van Balea. De kaartjes van de kabelbaan zijn niet inbegrepen in de ticketprijs. Kosten van ongeveer 12 euro op en neer

Our guide did a great job explaining everything. He made sure we saw everything.
Our expectations were meet over and above what we imagined. The tour guide Daria was knowledgeable and expressed the relative information of our tour clearly and accurately while maintaining your interest at all times. The tour was great. The Transfagason Highway and mountain was amazing and our guide was very knowledgeable and the car was very comfy. The cable car up to the mountain was not included in the price and it was a bit pricey but we enjoyed this tour. We also visited the monastery and the UNESCO Sighisoara town which we loved.

Excellent guide and driver,, clean and comfortable car, cable car fees not included and were surprisingly expensive. Overall enjoyable experience.

In the summer when the Transfagarasan is fully open there is no need to use the cable car, we go up to Balea Lake by car, and then we avoid paying for the cable car Best regards Traian B
