Had a great time cooking with Defne! I highly recommend this experience.

Defne was an amazing host and excellent chef. We walked out with a better understanding of Portuguese flavors and ingredients. The dishes she showed us to prepare were delicious and easily replicable for back home. She made the experience very personable and relatable and we highly recommend this activity.

Defne’s class was truly a treat. Her welcoming home & genuine love of food were so appreciated. Lunch was delicious & enjoyed in her beautiful garden. Follow up was great; I already have the recipes & will make again once we are home.

My husband and I had the best time cooking with Daphne in her home. She welcomed us into her very lovely kitchen where we picked our spices and ingredients. She uniquely explained cooking practices of the region including historical/ cultural nuances as well as techniques to maximize flavor. It was absolutely beautiful to share our cooked meal with one another in her backyard garden/patio! Daphne is very personable and warm; we couldn’t have asked for a more charming and intimate experience! We learned so much and are so excited to experiment with her recipes in the future!

Our host provided us with a wonderful, hands on, culinary experience with insight to traditional Portuguese food and way of life. We made three courses and enjoyed them with local wines in a private garden setting on a balmy evening.

Defne welcomed us into her home for a truly unique experience. The meal was approachable and delicious - we look forward to trying it again at home. If you are looking for a nice night with a great host then consider booking!

Wow. What can I say. This was the most authentic, genuine experience that I would have never expected to book on trip advisor. I know sometimes this site is full of tourist traps but trust me this it not that in the slightest. We were welcomed into the home and felt like we were with a friend from the beginning. The entire process all the way until we shared a meal with the host felt like lunch at with friends and family. Part of our hearts are left here in a hopes to “see you again”. What a beautiful human, place, and heart that was shared with us. My only regret is that we had to say see you later to our host and we hope that we do.
