Dit is niet jouw typische Italiaanse kookles. Dit is een kans om jezelf onder te dompelen in een privé kookles met een heerlijke man die gepassioneerd is over de regionale Italiaanse keuken en een authentieke maaltijd deelt met een stel dat al 30 jaar getrouwd is en nog steeds gek is op verliefdheid! Fabio woont op een heuvel op het platteland, omringd door olijfbomen. Fabio en Christiane (wanneer ze thuis is) verwelkomen u in hun kleurrijke huis met een verfrissend drankje. Fabio legt uit hoe ze olijven plukken en hoe olijfolie wordt gemaakt. Neem vervolgens deel aan Fabio in zijn keuken voor een hands-on kookcursus van 2,5 uur. Leer verse pasta, saus, hoofdgerecht en dessert maken. Afhankelijk van het seizoen kun je Fabio helpen om tagliatelle con ragù of inktvisrisotto te maken met wilde venkel en sinaasappelschil en kabeljauw met prei en paarse kool of karbonade met amandelen. Geniet voor het dessert van castagnaccio, kastanjemeelcake, een regionale favoriet of panna cotta met aardbeiencoulis in de zomer boven een pot vers gezette koffie.

We traveled to Florence with our close friends and booked a cooking class with Fabio and his wife, Christiane. They were immediately warm and welcoming. Learning to make a traditional Italian meal was full of fun and laughter. We truly appreciate their hospitality and would recommend their countryside class for any small group.
What an amazing experience. Set high on a hill outside Florence, Fabio’s home and kitchen look as though they were made for a movie. Picturesque house and surrounding yard and garden are the perfect setting for this experience. Fabio checked with us the week before to make sure we were learning things we wanted to and let us help set the menu. We selected lasagna with meat sauce and risotto and Fabio added his special apple cake. This class is hands on, making pasta and sauces from scratch. You can help prepare and cook as much as you want. I made the pasta for the lasagna and we made fresh vegetable stock to use in the risotto. What a learning experience. We are accomplished cooks, but still learned many new things. Fabio and his wife Cristiana are such gracious hosts. He opened excellent bottles of wine to enjoy with our dinner out under the pergola while witnessing a spectacular sunset. Food, conversation, wine were all delightful. I highly recommend this experience!
