Wine education and tasting. Crating Greek dishes, and experiencing an excellent meal with ample wine of your choice.
We had such a great time at this wine tasting and cooking class. Jason, the son of the vineyard owners, was fantastic. Be ready for his deadpan humor. Once you catch on, it is hilarious. They were very accommodating. We actually showed up a day early by mistake and he still took care of us. He started with a really thorough explanation of the vineyard and Greek wines. Jason answered every question in depth and was much more informative than I expected. I would encourage anyone going to ask lots of questions. Some of the things people asked were things I never would have thought of and it made it even more interesting. We walked into the vineyard where he explained the different pruning techniques and enjoy the beautiful view. When we came back to the covered outdoor area, they had food ready for us to put together some traditional dishes like tzatziki, dolmades. Afterwards we sat down at large picnic tables for a family style meal. The food was absolutely fantastic. It was such a lovely and enjoyable day. I highly recommend it. If you are looking for a true immersive cooking class standing over a stove this is not that, but I was so happy with the experience. All of us loved it.
We had a very enjoyable day but this is not a cooking class. It is about wine, wine tasting, a short cooking demo and a very nice lunch. Again it was fun. Enjoyed the wines but it is not a cooking class.
The food was amazing,, we learned some cooking techniques and a lot about the vineyard and wine making in Greece. A family owned winery. With the visit. Use Google maps, Apple Maps got us lost and we were 15 minutes late.
Attempted to contact via email and phone to arrange pickup at the port. No answer. Called viator customer service and they called several times as well. No answer. We didn’t go because we didn’t know how to get there. Disappointed
We have been contacted by Viator and we provided all the needed details to them, which they should have passed back to you. We have sent 2 emails later on waiting in order to arrange the transfers but we got no reply. It was also possible to contact us directly over the chat, email or phone. I don't think is fair to rate us with 1 star for an event you did not participate when we only have 5 star reviews for all other participants. Sorry you couldn't make it.
Highly recommended. this was more wine tasting than cooking, but both were followed by a superb lunch of an array of dishes. So it was a really great experience. the owner’s son was incredibly knowledgable explaining about the wine and family vineyard process, and the food preparation. After tasting 6 different wines, we had a go preparing some dishes - vine leaves and tzatziki. The cooking participation was to be honest minimal - everything was laid out and pre prepared, so it was a case of mixing .. not too challenging.., however the whole experience was extremely well organised, and the meal courses (set dishes) were very tasty and just kept coming. Highly recommended.
Beautiful vineyard setting and excellent food and wine. Jason our host was terrific. Highly recommend as a fun activity on Rhodes.
We very much enjoyed this tour. We started by walking through the vineyards and learned about how they take care of the vines, including the effects of recent fires. The wine tasting was very interesting also, as we did not know much about Greek wines. The cooking class was fun— we prepared three dishes that we look forward to making at home. Then we sat down to a wonderful 11 course lunch which provided a great introduction to Greek foods. We ended by learning about how they distill the Greek version of grappa. And throughout, we enjoyed watching their cat wander around saying hello to everyone.
Jason did a wonderful job breaking down and describing all the wines. The food was phenomenal!! Such a lovely setting to spend an afternoon in.
