We had a lovely evening with Yorgos exploring Thessaloniki’s food and culture. He is very knowledgeable about Greek cuisine, local traditions and the stories behind the dishes, and it was clear that he is genuinely passionate about sharing his city with visitors. The food stops gave us a good introduction to local flavours, and we enjoyed discovering traditional dishes and ingredients along the way. What made the experience especially nice was Yorgos himself – he was warm, engaging and happy to share his knowledge, not only about food but also about Greek culture and everyday life. He also connected wonderfully with our son Malthe through their shared interest in music, which made the evening feel personal and memorable for our family. Anna is such an excellent guide, she curated an experience with 4 perfect stops and is so knowledgeable about the history of Thessaloniki and Greek culture, and was able to speak at length about so many topics and foods. Extremely kind, knowledgeable and personable. Our whole group had a great time. She even gave recommendations for food, bars, drinks and activities, site seeing etc to do for the rest of our trip. She gave us so much more perspective and I appreciated Thessaloniki so much more after our tour.

The tour guide George was amazing. He greeted us with a Thessaloniki traditional dessert that really started our tour with a warm welcome and opened our palates. He was patient, knowledgeable, and an excellent accommodating guide for a family of five. Within minutes it felt like we were longtime friends visiting George and he was showing us his city. George really demonstrated that he loves teaching visitors about his city's history along with sharing the tastes of special Thessaloniki authentic sweets. This is a must tour for the cruise ship visitors. Skip The Hop on Hop off tour and hire George for his wife Anna. I understand they also do a food tour which would be even better if you have the time. Thank you George from your Nebraska friends.

Great experience for two people combining the town’s history and food history. We enjoy the alcohol! 1st destination: bread and spread (3) 2nd destination: fried zucchini, saganaki, red pepper spread with olive oil bread, alcohol 3rd destination: pork sausage, pork belly, souvlaki, alcohol, cheese pie 4th destination: trigona We feel full but we also don’t eat a lot. The tour ends around 7 pm ish. People at Thessaloniki eat around 9 pm. Restaurants still open past midnight. You can always get dessert or eat dinner after the tour

A short journey into the gastronomic tradition of Thessaloniki with some glimpses in the past. We've tried many different kinds of local meals while listening about the ways of the city, how its people interact with food through their daily lives. There have been 4 people in the group, so some times there was too much food for us to finish it all, which made me a bit sad. Because the food was that good:) The guide eagerly answers the questions about the city and Greek culture in general, so whatever you want to learn you will.

The variety of food was good and the breaks in between were good. Lots of food. We also received a list of recommendations after the tour, which was very helpful.

This was an excellent exploration of traditional Thessaloniki dishes of a complete traditional Greek dinner spread across three separate locations coupled with informative friendly discussion about the food and drink as well as the historical and interesting sights passed on thee strolls between the restaurants. Anna was charming, interesting and a pleasure of a guide and also gave us great tips on other places to visit during our stay in Thessaloniki.

We absolutely loved our food tour with Anna K. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and funny, she truly felt like a long-time friend from the moment we met her. Everything about the food tour was amazing, from the variety of local spots to the way she shared the history and culture behind each bite. My husband doesn’t usually eat everything on food tours, but this time he tried it all and loved it. That alone says a lot! My daughter said she loved Thessaloniki more than other places we’ve visited, and I think this experience played a big part in that. Anna made it engaging and fun for all of us, not just informative. What really stood out was how personal and authentic the tour felt. We didn’t feel like tourists, we felt like we were experiencing the city through a local’s eyes. Anna took the time to answer all our questions, gave us great recommendations for the rest of our stay, and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment. This was more than just a food tour, it was a memory we’ll carry with us. If you’re visiting Thessaloniki, this is an absolute must-do. Highly recommend!
