Bethlehem-reis Halve dag - Grijp de kans om een van de belangrijkste bijbelse steden, Bethlehem, de stad van David, te bezoeken. Naast de rijke culturele kant en het smakelijke eten van de stad, hebben we tijdens onze reis de gelegenheid om een geleid bezoek te brengen aan alle drie de grote kerken in Bethlehem. We reizen naar de stad in Bethlehem Distract genaamd Beit Sahour is een van de twee hoogste steden in de christelijke bevolking. We zullen de levens van de lokale bevolking onder de loep nemen en de verbazingwekkende handgemaakte souvenirs zien die ze maken, evenals de herders Veld. * Zorg ervoor dat u uw paspoort meeneemt, omdat dit soms vereist is. * Tijdens deze tour wachten we online om de grot te zien - soms zijn er vertragingen bij deze tour, zorg ervoor dat je niets hebt geboekt voor de middag. * Wissel van voertuig is vereist, alle tijden zijn bij benadering!

De Milk Grotto-kerk is de plaats waar de Heilige Familie zijn toevlucht zocht tijdens het bloedbad van de Onnozele Kinderen, voordat ze naar Egypte konden vluchten. De naam is afgeleid van het verhaal dat een "druppel melk" van de Maagd Maria op de vloer van de grot viel en zijn kleur veranderde in wit.

De eerste kerk werd gebouwd door de Romeinse keizer Constantijn in de 4e eeuw na Christus, over de grot waar Maria Jezus baarde. De kerk bevindt zich waar Jezus werd geboren in Bethlehem.

De Orde van de Heilige Maagd Maria van de berg Karmel heeft geen enkele stichter, maar werd gesticht door een groep kluizenaars die dicht bij de "Lente van Elia" op de berg Karmel woonden, met twee wortels van hun spiritualiteit: de profeet Elia en de Maagd Maria. Aan het begin van de 13e eeuw kregen de kluizenaars een leefregel, die werd geschreven door de heilige Albert, patriarch van Jeruzalem.

Both of our guides were very knowledgeable and interesting. They explained everything and answered all our questions. George, our guide in Bethlehem, spoke Aramaic and said The Lords Prayer over us in Aramaic. We visited the grotto where Jesus was born as well as all the other locations on our itinerary. We were given food and drink surprises and got to visit the local people. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour. Nothing negative to say about it.

This was a wonderful tour of Bethlehem, milk grotto,Shepards field, associated history, and a great chance to see the surrounding communities. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable locals who were extremely welcoming, kind and gracious. We also appreciated the opportunity to learn more about Palestinian culture.

We enoyed the tour with the family of three being our guides. We felt part of the Palesitinian community. Value for the money was good. Apart from the visits to the grotto, churches, shepherds fields and the fences, we were treated with local delicacies. This was not at a store, so it we did not experience a dressed up sales event but rather an exchange of cultures. Yes, the tour ended at a local souvenir shop of the community, but this was limited to just 20 minutes with no pressure at all. And to our suprise at the end of the tour there wasn't even an opportunity to leave a tip. This was illustrative for the good vibe during the trip.

It was my first time in Bethlehem and I couldn't have asked for a better trip. Our guide Boaz not only was super knowledgable, but his love for this place and its most famous citizen were also so evident and beautiful to witness. We had a pleasant half day tour to Bethlehem in a comfortable small air conditioned bus. A local Christian guide joined us in Bethlehem, and he was very kind and knowledgeable. The tour was focused on the Christian sites, but we also have visited some Banksy graffiti, the Walled off Hotel, and an olive wood carving workshop. The price of the tour was significantly lower than some other options, but I have doubts that they are any better. Unfortunately we did not have time to stand in the one-hour long queue to visit the grotto under the Church of Nativity, but we were tired anyway because of the almost 40 degrees outside.

This tour was one of the absolut highlights of our stay in Israel. The guide, Elias, is super friendly and knows so much about what he shows you. The tour is extremely well organized, you get to see everything as planned (and more!). The gifts received were much appreciated. Communicating with the team before, during and after this tour was always a pleasure, you really feel that Elias & the rest of the team do this not for the money, but because they genuinely love this land and showing it to others.
