Tour van Santiago naar Ribeira Sacra met boot
Beschrijving
Tijdens deze excursie gaan we naar de provincie Ourense om een heel bijzondere plaats te bezoeken, bekend als de Ribeira Sacra. De bakermat van de middeleeuwse religieuze kunst in deze provincie, en van de gastronomie, beleefde het in de middeleeuwen en de moderne tijd zijn gouden periode. Een weerspiegeling van die tijd is de talrijke religieuze architectuur die het heeft, zoals het klooster van Santo Estevo of San Pedro de Rocas, beide van grote schoonheid. De natuurlijke landschappen, met uitgestrekte eikenbossen, dompelen ons onder in een omgeving die ons terugvoert in de tijd. Om nog maar te zwijgen van het feit dat dit gebied bekend staat als het gebied van een van de beroemdste oorsprongsbenamingen in Spanje, die van Riveiro. Allemaal op slechts een paar uur van de stad Santiago.

Bij de volgende stop gaan we de Ribeira Sacra binnen voor een interessante catamarantocht. Vanaf onze boot zullen we kunnen observeren wat bekend staat als "heroïsche wijnbouw", die zijn naam dankt aan de steilheid van waar de Ribeiro-wijngaarden groeien die de Sil-rivierpas omringen. Hier is inbegrepen de tijd die nodig is om van de ene plaats naar de andere te gaan

We bezoeken het klooster van San Pedro de Rocas, waar u de antropomorfe graven, de gevel van de 19e-eeuwse kerk, de klokkentoren en de fontein van San Benito kunt bezoeken
Je bezoekt de stad Allariz, een van de meest charmante steden in Galicië. Dankzij een rondleiding kunt u de geschiedenis van deze stad en zijn legendes ontdekken.

A tour of the river Sil, very beautiful in nature and the sea, vineyards, I liked it very much, recommended. But in a town in the area like Allariz
The tour guide was very good but the tour was not what I expected. The boat on the Sil river did not show all the vineyards planted from the top of the mountain down to river,the boat did not continue. The mirador was not that great and two tours arrived at same time leaving little time to take pictures The lunch stop was terrible. We got to a town at 3 pm which all restaurants were closed and only one was recommended by guide. It was a horrible one. The monastery was nothing great they should have taken people to the St Estero which is a beautiful one and had given option to have lunch at the parador which would have been better or just skip lunch and get back to Santiago earlier. Also ship should have stopped or bus taken group to a vineyard which was not done. Maybe skip lunch and do wine tasting at vineyard Very disappointed since the area is spectacular. Copy what the Portuguese do in Porto on the Douro cruise

Beautiful scenery the canyons amazing. Ana our tour guide was excellent very good explanation in English. Driver excellent too. My third trip with Galicia Travels, highly recommended.
