We had an exceptional visit to Hagia Sophia thanks to our guide Hakan. He did not just explain the monument; he helped us understand its extraordinary evolution over the centuries, from its construction as a Byzantine basilica to its conversion into a mosque, museum, and back to a mosque. His explanations were clear, rigorous, and full of historical context, allowing us to appreciate how each stage left its mark.
