We worden om 4.00 uur opgehaald bij het hotel en rijden in anderhalf uur naar het station van Ollantaytambo, waar we om 6.30 uur aan boord gaan van onze trein. Vervolgens maken we een reis naar het stadje "Aguas Calientes", die twee uur duurt. Bij aankomst op het treinstation staat onze gids ons op te wachten met een bord waarop jullie namen staan. Met dit bord gaan we naar het busstation. Daar klimmen we 30 minuten lang zigzaggend naar 400 meter hoogte om Machu Picchu te bereiken. Bij aankomst passeren we het controlepunt. Vanaf hier begint de rondleiding. We bezoeken de belangrijkste plekken van de stad, zoals het centrale plein, de ronde toren, de heilige zonneklok en de koninklijke vertrekken. De rondleiding duurt ruim twee uur. Aan het einde keren we terug naar het stadje “Aguas Calientes” en lunchen we in een van de vele restaurants. In de middag, om 14:40 uur, nemen we de trein terug naar Cusco. We komen aan op het treinstation in Ollantaytambo, waar we u opwachten om u naar de stad Cusco te brengen.

The experience was amazing. Alex give us an amazing tour. We really take advantage on the tour. We learn about Machupicchu, their culture and Peru history. My kids learn a lot and was wonderful for them. Alex was impressive.
