Vandaag verken je een van de mooiste en mooiste tempels van de Egyptische tempels, de tempel van de godin Hathor in Dendera. Dendera of Tentyra was de hoofdstad van het 16e Nome van Boven-Egypte. De tempel is opgedragen aan de godin Hathor. Hathor (de koe) werd door de Grieken geïdentificeerd als Hera of Aphrodite. Ze was de godin van liefde, dans en muziek. Voordat je de tempel bereikt, zijn er twee gebouwen in de tempel, de Mamisi of 'het geboortehuis' en de Romeinse basiliek. De tempel van Hathor werd gebouwd in de tijd van de Grieken. Het is in zeer goede staat met verbazingwekkende astronomische taferelen op het plafond. Er zijn 24 Hathoric-kolommen op het dak van de 1e hypostyle zaal. Laten we deze prachtige tempel verkennen met heel mooie scènes op het plafond, zoals de afbeelding van de godin Nut. Een van de zeer bekende dingen van deze tempel is de afbeelding van de Egyptische dierenriem op de top van de tempel. Je zult het goede houtsnijwerk in de crypte bewonderen aan de achterkant van de tempel achter het heiligdom. Koningin Cleopatra VII verschijnt op de achterste buitenmuur en biedt het aanbieden aan de godin. Een kleine tempel is opgedragen aan Isis achter in de tempel van Hathor. Een zwembad met een Nijlmeter bevindt zich rechts van de tempel.

We did the Tours of the Valley of Kings and Queens, and also the temples of Dendera and Abydos from Luxor. We had a fantastic experience with our guide Issam, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tours were always on time and Ahmed, our agent made us feel very confit and welcome. When I contacted Ahmed for booking the trip, he was very prompt and quick with his replies unlike other agencies and agents that I tried to contact before the trip. The promptness of his replies just made me think that he’s more reliable and hence I decided to go with Happy Egypt Tours. It was the best decision ever. We also did a trip to Sinai by flight from Luxor and then by road to Cairo via St Catherine monastery. The scenery was mind blowing. All this was arranged by Ahmed at Happy Egypt and it went seamlessly and smoothly. We stayed in Egypt for about 10 days and also used some other tours when in Cairo. We had some negative experiences during our time on Cairo, but everything that was handled by Happy Egypt was just excellent. At the end of the trip, I regretted not booking the whole tour with Happy Egypt, as I had only booked the Luxor and Sinai parts with them. The hotels that Ahmed booked were of excellent quality and in very good locations. Also a word on the restaurants that we were taken to during our tours. The restaurants were clean, and served great food. I would absolutely recommend Happy Egypt Tours for anybody planning to have a seamless and great experience in Egypt. Look no further.
