Nadat je een ochtend in Pearl Harbor hebt doorgebracht, maken we een rit naar de historische bezienswaardigheden in het centrum van Honolulu die je de kans geven om de hele dag door de geschiedenis van Pearl Harbor en Hawaii te leren kennen. Een bezoek aan een van de meest emotionele en memorabele locaties van Pearl Harbor - het USS Arizona Memorial is een must. In het Pearl Harbor Visitor Center kunt u verschillende tentoonstellingen bekijken die historische context bieden over de gebeurtenissen die leidden tot de aanval op Pearl Harbor op 7 december 1941. Bekijk een documentaire van 23 minuten die een overzicht biedt van de aanval, de impact ervan en de betekenis van het USS Arizona Memorial. Na de inleidende tentoonstellingen en film stapt u aan boord van een door de Amerikaanse marine bediende boot voor een korte rit naar het USS Arizona Memorial. De 10 minuten durende tocht over de haven is rustig en biedt uitzicht op de omliggende militaire installaties
Het USS Arizona Memorial is een wit, openluchtgebouw dat de resten van het gezonken slagschip overspant. Het is een plechtige en rustige plek, ontworpen om bezoekers te laten nadenken over de offers die de matrozen en mariniers brachten die tijdens de aanval omkwamen. Het wrak bekijken: Binnen in het monument kunt u in het water kijken om delen van het gezonken slagschip te zien. De omtrek van het schip is net onder het oppervlak zichtbaar en oliedruppels, vaak aangeduid als "The Tears of the Arizona", zijn nog steeds te zien die naar de oppervlakte stijgen. Herdenkingsmuur: Aan het uiteinde van het monument is een muur met de namen van de 1.177 bemanningsleden die hun leven verloren aan boord van de USS Arizona. My visit to Pearl Harbor and downtown Honolulu wouldn’t have been as fun and enriching without our wonderful tour guide. Our guide, Will, brought fun and learning into the experience. He narrated facts and stories from pickup time to drop off. He filled every pass by or stop location with facts, anecdotes and jokes, and involved all age groups in our group. I’m grateful for this experience and highly recommend it.

Pearl harbor itself is great but tour operator Aloha sunshine tours had many issues. Tour booking in Viator said pick up from hotel but tour operator asked to come to a pick Up point. Air conditioning was not good in the mini bus. It was hot. Driver was not audible with wonky speaker. Viator needs to fix these issues

The tour itself was good and our guide was very nice and knowledgeable. Our only issue is that we were not informed prior to purchasing tickets that our USS Arizona was going to be standby. We did not have a problem getting on the boat. We were on within 20 minutes of arriving, however, I would not have booked the tour had I had this knowledge beforehand. We would have gone on our own and done standby and saved a few hundred dollars. I did not feel the tour operator was upfront about the situation. In the end it worked out but we didn’t feel as though we were given all of the information until after the tour was purchased and we were already on the bus.

Absolute scam. We get on the bus, "you don't have guaranteed tickets to the Arizona." Why are we paying you $70 a person???? The rest of the trip could be amazing, but that right there has ruined the experience.

We were given standby tickets- our guide told us this is quite normal-I assume they buy a block of tickets and take additional sales without having tickets - so we lost 75 minutes waiting We didn’t take the second part of the tour we were so disgusted with th con

We used Sunshine tours for an afternoon tour before departing Hawaii. The driver was very engaging and we enjoyed our time at the Pearl Harbor memorial. Unfortunately the AC on the bus was broken and it was very uncomfortable. The tour company should have checked the bus before using it. Also, the driver notified them while we were on the 2 hour Arizona/Pearl Harbor stop and they had time to replace the bus but did not. Not mahalo.
