In één dag kunt u de stad Malindi leren kennen, met zijn markten, het hectische Afrikaanse leven. Om vervolgens de brug over te steken en jezelf onder te dompelen in de rust van Robinson Island en te worden gesust door het geluid van de zee. Sluit de dag af met een reis naar Marafa, waar Hell's Kitchen de Devil's Kitchen is, omdat het overdag heet is. U zult gefascineerd zijn door het verhaal van de legende van de oprichting van Marafa, het verkennen van de kloven te voet. Je zult de dag eindigen met het bewonderen van een prachtige zonsondergang.

Niets soortgelijks wordt gevonden in heel Afrika. Het is een grote kloof, gevormd in de Plioceen-periode, omgeven door zeer hoge verticale muren met roodachtige torens en stenen pilaren die zelfs 30 meter hoog worden. Hell's Kitchen, dat door de lokale bevolking vaak Nyari wordt genoemd (de plek die zichzelf breekt) was oorspronkelijk een zandstenen plaats. Het was vooral de erosie van regen en wind over de millennia die het transformeerde in de surrealistische kloof: een uniek wonder van de natuur, zelfs volgens verschillende van de meest gezaghebbende geologen op de planeet. Bezoek te voet in de kloof. De beste tijd om het te bezoeken is tegen zonsondergang, de rotsen nemen verschillende kleuren aan, variërend van wit, roze, oranje tot rood.

We did this tour with Giovanni , and also the 2 day East Tsavo safari. We already knew Giovanni because 12 years ago we went on safari with him and we had a great time! Leaving Watamu early, we quickly pass Malindi, skirting the salt flats, then we cross a mangrove (by boat or on foot if the water is not too high), and we arrive on a large white beach, alone at world ! or almost because next to it there is a small hut under the trees, with hammocks and mattresses as you wish, which prepares you a good lunch of local fish and shellfish, very nice! Little nap lulled by the waves and we leave for the Marafa canyon, where we emerge on another planet, the devil's kitchen with all its spices, in a painting where ochres, greens and the blue of the sky mingle, magnificent ! The sunset is divine!
Very well organized excursion in terms of times and distances, Giovanni accompanied us throughout the day with professionalism and kindness, together with a driver, telling us how daily life goes, taking us for a walk in the Malindi market, meeting those who live in the Shamba villages. We met the gazes of many people, all welcoming and kind, and many children who gave us smiles and a joy, a desire for life, which we will hardly forget. We then visited the Akamba wood factory, where artisans build objects using traditional methods, we had lunch with excellent food on Robinson Island, and ended with a visit to the Hell's Kitchen canyon in Marafa. Trust Giovanni, he is serious, honest, reliable and kind. Tip: don't forget to bring with you clothing, school supplies, food and anything you think might be useful for children, but also for adults... they really need it.
Wonderful trip! Giovanni is a truly kind and helpful person. He managed to satisfy us with every request and made our day special! The guys who take you on the boat are very knowledgeable, friendly and know how to make you have fun while still leaving you time to relax. The food was the best I have eaten in Kenya, very fresh fish and lots of lobsters. Eating in the middle of the sea on the boat and then diving into the crystal clear sea of Jacaranda Beach (Sardinia 2) is an unforgettable experience. I recommend 100%
