Tour Frutillar

The guide told us lots of interesting things as we drove to Frutillar. Once we got there he just dropped us off in front of the museum and said he’d pick us up in about 2 hours. So there was actually no guided tour of Frutillar. There was just enough time to see the museum and stop for a quick refreshment. Can’t say I saw that much of the town.

Really enjoyed riding around the lake, visiting all the different villages, the theater, all the history of the German settlers, the amazing scenery with the Volcano ever present, walking in the national park.This was a private tour with an incredibly knowledgeable and interesting guide. At the end, we had a wonderful meal sitting on the restaurant‘s terrace at the foot of the Osorno volcano!!

Beautiful town, where the theme music is present everywhere, including at the bus stops. Recognised by UNESCO for classical music. There's a festival in late January where people from all over the world attend. At the bottom on the other side of the frozen lake the Osorno volcano watching everything....

They charged me $ 19,000,- for a "tour" that only consisted of type 9 in the morning take us from Puerto Varas to Frutillar and leave us there, indicating that we would be picked up outside the Teatro del Lago at 12:15 hrs, which did not even give us time to do the tour inside the theater (on our own), since this starts at 12:00 hrs and ends at !3:00 hrs...... I took this "supposed guided tour to Frutillar" just to have a guide to accompany us on the visit and show us the most interesting points of the city, "which did not happen".... for this reason I had to leave the tour in order to tour the city (and the Teatro del Lago) on my own and reach to know something..... at the end of the day I returned to the agency of Turis Tour in Puerto Varas and demanded the return of my money, which I managed after much discussion. Advice for tourists: It is not worth taking this tour as by local transport (minibuses of celestial color) the transfer from Puerto Varas to Frutillar costs $ 1,200,- and buses depart every 15 minutes. Comment for Turis Tour : it is not worth risking the good name they have as an operator (as they have other tours that are very good) offering this poorly designed product.....unless they improve it and "really" turn it into a Tour, where the guide will accompany you on the visit and take you to the places of interest with corresponding explanations and time to take pictures.

If you are in Puerto Varas or Puerto Montt there are minibuses (blue) that you find every 20 minutes round trip. (when I went there was $900 CPL from Puerto Montt to Puerto Varas and from Puerto Varas to Frutillar cost $1200 CPL) In Frutillar Bajo, you have to travel the entire coastal edge, take a photo on the metal piano, enter the pier, visit the lake theater and the different places to eat in the area. You will find a lot of bandurrias (Birds) on the roofs of all the houses. You can’t leave without eating a rich Kuchen (I recommend eating it in “The Goblins of the Lake”, it’s just amazing) You can also take one from “kuchenladen”. Watch the weather, you may run into some rain at any time and some cold...

Turistour is a good company, they are friendly and well trained punctual guides but in this particular case it is not worth taking this tour. Frutillar is very close to Puerto Varas and there is very good transport. In addition, in this particular case the tour departs from Frutillar at 12.30 so that you cannot take the guided tour to the theater of the Lake (ends at 1) which is one of the main attractions of Frutillar. We decided to stay and take public transport!

Small and pleasant city, with various activities focused on especially musical arts. Good promenade to walk by the sea with the volcano at the bottom, with several restaurants on the way and super cute
