Tijdens deze tour komt u langs vele winkels waar ze verschillende handelswaar aanbieden zoals parfums, doeken, sieraden , antiek en souvenirs waar u kunt kopen en kopen! We zullen u ook kennis laten maken met enkele lokale winkels om te zien hoe enkele ambachten worden gemaakt, zoals de lokale sandalen , parfums en gouden sieraden ambachten. Je komt langs verschillende lokale gemeenschappen binnen Al Balad die elke gemeenschap verzamelt voor thee en een praatje , spelende kinderen en straatkatten die op zoek zijn naar voedsel ! de Balade geest Bedrijfsregistratienummer : 4030231022

Dit is een ervaring van een halve dag om Al Balad te verkennen zoals de lokale bevolking het noemt, wat "de stad" betekent als verwijzing naar de basis van Jeddah. Al-Balad werd gesticht in de 7e eeuw en diende historisch als het centrum van Jeddah. De verdedigingsmuren van Al-Balad werden in de jaren veertig afgebroken. In de jaren 70 en 80, toen Jeddah rijker begon te worden door de oliehausse, trokken veel Jeddawi's naar het noorden, weg van Al-Balad. Al Balad is geregistreerd als werelderfgoed UNISCO-site en sindsdien zijn de oude gebouwen met zijn unieke raamontwerpen en deuren bewaard gebleven, samen met zijn unieke gebouwen waarvan sommige zijn gebouwd met schelpen en stenen!. De oude gebouwen huisvestten ooit de beroemde Jeddah-families en herbergden de oprichter, wijlen koning Abdulaziz, toen hij voor het eerst Jeddah binnenkwam. Onze rondleiding gaat door de geschiedenis van dit gebouw, inclusief een bezoek aan een van de gebouwen om de interieurontwerpen, het meubilair en het leven van toen te zien
De oude moskeeën zijn een andere toeristische attractie waarvan sommige meer dan 300 jaar geleden werden gesticht en nog steeds functioneel zijn als moskee. De belangrijkste attractie in deze tour is het eten en de snacks van Al Balad, waar we enkele beroemde verkopers zullen passeren waarvan bekend is dat ze de beste lokale snacks aanbieden, zoals de lokale drank gemaakt van brood "Sobia" en de oude bakkerij die beroemd is om zijn verse brood. Een andere lokale snack die bestaat uit bonen en augurken "Balilah". We stoppen om uit te rusten in een van de lokale koffie-openluchtplaatsen en proberen beroemde lokale thee gemengd met melk en kruiden We zullen verhuizen om het centrum van Al Balad te bezoeken om het eerste hotel gebouwd in Jeddah te zien, beïnvloed door Italiaanse architectuur, en vervolgens langs de eerste school gebouwd in Saoedi-Arabië. We bezoeken ook een van de kunsthuizen en het museum met zijn unieke lokale kunstcollectie en antiek.

Visiting the old town Al-Balad is an absolute must if your in Jeddah. Al-Balad has a calm and vibrant atmosphere, and exploring it feels cinematic. My tour guide, Ahmed, was knowledgeable and explained the history of the different areas in Old Jeddah so well. The people were kind and welcoming. The tour is on the pricier side, but it’s worth it, especially if you’re travelling solo.

This was an excellent tour by Sara and a great introduction to Jeddah's history. Al Balad is a fascinating area and after this tour I ended up going there every evening. Sara took me around and, because she knew many of the people there, managed to get me inside many old houses there to see how they look on the inside. After the tour and during her free time, Sara accompanied me to a number of food outlets to taste local food. The Saudi people are genuinely friendly and helpful. I fully recommend this tour, and for people to visit Jeddah.

We organised a trip with Viator and so glad we did. We’d walked around the day before, which was great, but after the formal trip, we’d realised that we’d missed so much. There’s so much to see/experience. The narrow streets, the new builds, the hidden shops, the hidden cafes, the fragrant environment…so much. The mosque welcomed us warmly and couldn’t have been more accommodating. Loved our time here

What a wonderful tour. Marwa greeted us with a beaming smile (as did most people we met in Jeddah during our week’s stay!) and off we went around Al Balad. Marwa brought the area to life with her knowledge of all the historic buildings - even getting us access to many buildings I’m sure we would have missed exploring independently. 3.5 hours on foot flew by. An abandoned space that is now undergoing a re-qualification with quite relevant tourist objectives. Despite the ruined buildings, the charm and beauty remain alive.
Sara our guide seemed to know everything and everyone in Jeddah. So friendly and open. Answered all our questions including the ones we did not think to ask.
My brother and I did this tour as an add on to to our Umrah (pilgrimage), and I'm so glad we did. This was an amazing tour and the history of old Jeddah is so interesting.
