De actieve vulkaan Bromo bevindt zich op een maanachtig landschap van mythische proporties en schitterende charme. De vulkaan en de omgeving bieden een prachtig uitzicht. Hij staat in een grijzige zandzee van vulkanisch as, omgeven door de hoge kliffen van de rand van de krater. Ze vormen een maanlandschap. Terwijl de savanne - flesgroen in het regenseizoen en goudkleurig op het hoogtepunt van het droge seizoen - in het zuiden aan de Bromo grenst. De vulkaan Bromo - 2392 m hoog - is één van de drie vulkanen in een oude krater, die zich over 10 km uitstrekt. Alleen de krater van de Bromo is actief. De Semeru is de hoogste bergtop van Java - 3676 m - en komt tevoorschijn achter de vulkaan Bromo als u op het uitkijkpunt Penanjakan ten noorden van de vulkaan Bromo staat. Semeru is ook een actieve vulkaan en spuwt elke 20 minuten as. Wanneer ook de krater van de Bromo rookt biedt dit een subliem uitzicht.

Reisroute
Een jeep haalt u op bij uw accommodatie in Malang tussen 00:00 en 00:30 uur. Na 2 tot 3 uur komt u aan bij de berg Penanjakan. Omdat het tussen 0 en 10 °C is, staat een lokale warme snack met hete koffie of thee op u te wachten. Wanneer de zon bijna opgaat kunt u uw plek kiezen. Vanaf het vroege ochtenddrankje tot het uitkijkpunt is het slechts 100 meter lopen. Weersomstandigheden en de activiteit van de vulkaan bepalen het uitzicht 's ochtends, maar het uitzicht over dit maanachtige landschap is altijd spectaculair wanneer de zon opkomt.
Na zonsopgang - rond 06:00 uur - is de vulkanische zwarte zandzee de volgende stop. Deze zandzee omringt deels de Bromo-vulkaan en is grijs-zwart gekleurd. Veel kleine rivieren doorkruisen deze zandzee. U kunt gewoon ergens in deze zee ontbijten en genieten van de adembenemende omgeving, voordat u verder gaat naar het parkeerterrein bij de tempel Poten Luhur.
De tempel Luhur Poten is een hindoetempel in de zandzee die de Bromo-vulkaan omgeeft. Deze tempel is nog steeds actief in gebruik. Wanneer er plechtigheden plaatsvinden, kunt u gaan kijken. Verder is de tempel gesloten, maar beslist een prachtige aanblik in de zandzee. De jeep parkeert in de buurt van deze tempel, zodat u uw wandeling naar de rand van de krater van de actieve vulkaan Bromo kunt beginnen.
Vanaf daar is het 45 minuten lopen naar de top van de vulkaan Bromo. Als u geen zin hebt te lopen, kunt u ook een paard huren. Vergeet niet zo nu en dan even te stoppen met lopen. Kijk over uw schouders omdat het uitzicht steeds wisselt. De vulkaan Bromo is een actieve vulkaan in een oude krater met een breedte van 10 km. De grijze zandzee en de savanne, flesgroen tijdens het regenseizoen, omringen Bromo.
Eenmaal terug bij de auto, gaat u verder naar de savanne vlak achter de vulkaan Bromo, ook wel de Tengger Caldera genoemd. Volgens het verhaal was de savanne eens een groot kratermeer. Het is opgedroogd en heeft verschillende rotsige en zandige structuren gevormd. De savanne is nu een uitgestrekt vlak land met struiken en enkele heuvels, waaronder de Teletubbies-heuvels. Afhankelijk van het seizoen, is de savanne een zeer groene savanne of een goudkleurige vlakte.
Op de terugweg naar Malang kunt u de Pelangi-waterval bezoeken. Na de savanne is het een korte rit naar het parkeerterrein van de waterval. Daarna is het een wandeling van 30 minuten bergafwaarts. Pelangi betekent regenboog. Als de zon schijnt kunt u een regenboog zien boven de waterval.
De Jago-tempel is klein en gebouwd tussen 1275 en 1300. Naar verluidt is het de begraafplaats van koning Wisnuwardhana, de vierde koning van het Singosari-koninkrijk. Van de Pelangi-waterval naar de Jago-tempel duurt ongeveer 30 minuten. De tijd waarop u terugkeert in Malang is afhankelijk van de tijd die u wilt doorbrengen op de verschillende objecten op uw weg terug naar Malang. We hebben geen tijdschema, de hoeveelheid tijd die u wilt doorbrengen bij de objecten is aan u. Gemiddeld keren reizigers terug in Malang rond 12:00 uur.

I booked my Mount Bromo trip through Shelter Hostel Malang, not only was it easy and convenient to book with them but the staff is incredibly helpful and always smiling. This tour was spectacular, I did it twice as the first one touched us one cloudy day and we could not see anything and the second, two days later, was wonderful and worth all. What beautiful views you have from the viewpoint and then walk through the crater of the Brome listening to its roars, unforgettable. Just look at the weather forecast to make sure it’s not all covered and if you can avoid a better weekend as that’s when more people visit these places. Also from Malang take another excursion to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, very beautiful and the funny thing is that you go down a waterfall to reach the Ace Waterfall. And from Banyuwangi, take the tour to Kawa Ijen to see the blue lava, the climb to this place was challenging but paid for everything with the views and experience up there. Excellent company was a success to go with Smartine Indonesia Travel, all excursions included, roundtrip transportation, water and breakfast.

We had A very good time visiting Madakaripura waterfall and Bromo. Due to private circumstances unfortunately no IJen. Our guide and taxi driver Dodo was polite, helpfull and A very good guide. Drop at harbor for Bali was welk planned.
Had a great time! We had the Malang- Bromo tour, with Bali drop-off. Everything went well and just like the time schedule. They choosed what was the best for us to do and they did great! Thanks to Adit our tour guide, he was the best!! He made our time 100 times better :) And ofcourse Johan our driver, he did great to bring us safe everywhere. They where the nicest people! Really recommend this tour if you want to go to Bali from Malang in one day and have a daytrip to Bromo also! (Good breakfast included by the way ;))
This requires some condition. The tour consists of 2 parts. Sunrise on a hilltop and a visit to the crater bromo. You have to get out of bed early before sunrise. The view is nice but not so spectacular to get up early. Front best style walk after the 4 wheel drive. Visit to the Bromo crater requires condition because of the style long staircase but also the climb to the stairs. You can rent a horse for 200,000 rupiah. View of the crater is impressive as are the sulfur fumes

But mostly people choose the sunrise so they can do the sharing trip and get the cheaper price like you did. Depart early for teh sunrise is necessary because the view point is crowded. If you depart later, it's gonna be traffic in the view point and you will be late for the sunrise. You also need to have your spot to wait for the sunrise and it will be difficult to find a good spot when everything is already full. Awesome day getting picked up at 12:30am and going until 12pm. The sunrise was an amazing start to the day and getting up close to the crater is a must do not to mention all the stops in between. Looks like another world at the top! Thanks from Australia 🇦🇺
