Tour 10 uur Pillones-waterval en Puruña-steenbos
Beschrijving
Dompel jezelf onder in de natuur. De Pillones-waterval valt op door zijn schoonheid omdat het een enorme waterval heeft, omgeven door tientallen rotsen gevormd door de erosie van water en tijd. Op dezelfde manier zal het Puruña-steenbos ons verrassen met zijn reeks natuurstenen zuilen die de uitstraling krijgen van een mysterieus betoverd en versteend bos.

Ons avontuur begint om 06:00 uur. met ons ontmoetingspunt op het centrale plein of bij uw hotel als dit zich in het historische centrum bevindt. Deze reis heeft als eerste bestemming de stad Pampa de Arrieros, een zeer belangrijk station voor reizigers die met de trein naar de prachtige Witte Stad kwamen. (inclusief reistijd vanuit Arequipa)
We maken een stop in Pampa Cañahuas waar we vicuña's achter de Misti-vulkaan zullen zien. We komen meteen aan in Patahuasi, een plek waar je kunt ontbijten of Andes mate kunt drinken om te acclimatiseren.
We beginnen onze reis van 1 uur om de plaats van afdaling gedurende 20 minuten te bereiken totdat we de Pillones-waterval bereiken (het is ook mogelijk om deze vanaf de top te zien). We zullen heel voorzichtig een rotsachtige helling moeten afdalen en een tocht langs de rivier moeten maken voordat we de prachtige waterval bereiken, waar we tijdens ons verblijf van 45 minuten alle foto's kunnen maken die we willen.
We zullen onze expeditie uitvoeren om het Imata Stone Forest te bereiken, waarvan de geologische rotsformaties die door water zijn geërodeerd een landschap bieden dat niet van deze wereld is. Daarna zullen we genieten van een lunch in een lokaal restaurant voordat we terugkeren naar Arequipa, waar we onze tour om 16.00 uur afsluiten nabij de Plaza de Armas in het stadscentrum.

The places we visited were phenomenal, we had an amazing time, with spectacular views. The breakfast and food restaurant was good, the staff's attention super good. The only thing is the guide, since he got on the truck he had an unkind attitude, he was like fed up or unwilling, his attention focused on those who spoke English, who were few since most of us were Spanish speakers. If the tour hadn't come the guide would have been the same.

We had a very nice time on the walk to the Falls and the Stone Forest. Our Sophia Guide knew everything about the area, and knew how to answer all our questions. We would have liked to spend more time in the impressive Stone Forest but the possibility of rain was rushing us (we went in January, rainy season) Recommendation: Wearing adaptable clothes is very hot and very cold. Wear layers. Comfortable shoes. Keep in mind that the walk includes hikes and activity at the height, you have to be prepared. The descent to the cataract is steep, requiring a little physical fitness. Medium level of effort. It is totally worth it for the beautiful views.

Good communication with the guide at all times to find mobility and also attentive to the group on the way in case any had altitude sickness. The hikes are short but challenging for those who for the first time do this type of adventure like me, but the scenery was spectacular!
Worthwhile tour, nice driver and guide. It was very Informative and the stone forest was a hit for us. Be aware the tour is at pretty high altitude.
Tour entertaining, the hikes are short, but steep, so it is advisable to go with hiking shoes and not trust the path. Overall, it is a good tour, bring sunshine, since lunch is cash.

This tour was so amazing! My guide was Mario and he was perfect for the group. Our driver was safe and careful around all the turns. The views were breathtaking and the waterfall was worth all the cardio! I was able to practice my Spanish as I was the only one who spoke English. Mario did a great job making everyone feel comfortable and safe. Highly recommend this tour!

The sites we visited were beautiful. Our guide and our driver were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. (Thanks Omar and Fannie!). The food was good, too. Be aware: this is a trip to 14,000+ ft so if you have trouble with altitude you should come prepared. Also, it's a very long day. But worth it!
