Geniet van een dagtour, want we halen je op bij je hotel in Siem Reap en rijden 15 km van Siem Reap naar de aanlegsteigers van Chong Khneas. We gaan aan boord van een lokale boot voor een mooie rit op de Tonle Sap door de drijvende dorpen van Chong Khneas en dorpen op hoge palen. Deze tour neemt je mee naar twee verschillende dorpen langs de uiterwaarden van Tonle Sap. Ontdek de kenmerkende stroomcyclus van het Tonle Sap-meer en hoe dit feit het tot de belangrijkste economische en ecologische hulpbron van Cambodja maakt. Door een bezoek te brengen aan de drijvende dorpen en markt van Chong Kneas, Kopong Phluk met mangrovebos en Kompong Phluk is het dorp op hoge palen, krijgt u inzicht in hoe dorpelingen op unieke wijze in harmonie leven in deze ongewone omgeving boven/op het water. Breng ongeveer 5 tot 6 uur door bij het meer en de uiterwaarden voor deze verrijkende culturele ervaring. Deze tour is inclusief snacks, lunch, cola en koud mineraalwater.

Geniet van een tour van 5 tot 6 uur terwijl we om 8:00 uur bij je hotel worden opgehaald. We rijden 15 km ten zuiden van Siem Reap naar de aanlegsteigers van Chong Kneas.
We gaan dan aan boord van een lokale boot voor een aangename rit naar de Tonle Sap, door het drijvende dorp Chong Khneas. Tonle Sap is het grootste meer van Zuidoost-Azië en strekt zich uit over het noordwesten van Cambodja. Het meer is economisch belangrijk omdat het dient als een belangrijke bron van vele soorten vissen. Tijdens het natte seizoen zwelt het op tot tien keer zijn normale grootte, wat verschillende waterbronnen met zich meebrengt. Het dient ook als leefgebied voor verschillende soorten watervogels. Chong Khneas is een drijvend dorp aan de rand van Tonle Sap. Verken de drijvende huishoudens, voornamelijk samengesteld uit Vietnamese mensen, en herkenbaar aan de felgekleurde huizen. Neem een glimp op van het drijvende dorpsleven terwijl we langs drijvende huizen, scholen, klinieken, sporthal en zelfs varkensboerderijen komen. We stoppen bij Gecko Environment Centre, waar u meer te weten kunt komen over de ecologie en rijke biodiversiteit van Tonle Sap en de omliggende uiterwaarden.
We vervolgen onze boottocht naar het vissersdorp Kompong Phluk. Huizen zijn hier op palen gebouwd. Dit dorp bestaat bijna uitsluitend uit Khmer-oorsprong. De dorpelingen verhuizen afhankelijk van het seizoen. Ze wonen op palen tijdens het regenseizoen en verhuizen naar kleine hutten in de buurt van de oevers tijdens het droge seizoen. Je bezoekt de pagode, het enige gebouw in het dorp dat niet op palen is gebouwd, en observeert dorpelingen die hun dagelijkse activiteiten uitvoeren. Je gaat dan over op een kleine kano (aug-jan als optioneel) om door dorpelingen te worden gepeddeld, om je diep in het dichte mangrovebos te brengen. De mangroven zijn uniek aangepast aan de overstroomde omgeving en kunnen op indrukwekkende wijze overleven als ze een deel van het jaar volledig onder water staan. We brengen je terug naar je hotel in Siem Reap na een bezoek aan Kampong Phluk Village.

Als gevolg van slecht weer (er kan heel weinig kans zijn in het regenseizoen tussen juli en half november), dus zullen we alleen Kampong Khleang en Kampong Phluk Villages bezoeken met de auto in plaats daarvan en een boottocht maken in Kampong Phluk evenals in Kampong Khleang Dorp.

Overpriced. Disappointing. Dropped us at a floating cafe, caged miserable scared looking animals, baby crocs handed to people to hold, unethical, and tried to rip us off by saying you could only go around the floating village if you paid extra 20USD. We thought that was the trip we were getting! Phoned our tuktuk driver and he made our boat take us around the edge, no stilt village as mentioned, we'd recommend giving this one a miss. Many other disappointed and pissed off tourists here too, they should explain before you go that you need to pay extra if you actually want to go around the village. And no respect for animals here, just put for show. Guide included was angling for tips. Felt pretty unprofessional. Recommend going to a further away lake spot for hopefully a much better and authentic experience, as this one wasn't.
This was one of my favorite things we did in Cambodia. It felt like a sneak peak into rural life here and especially life in the fishing villages. You will stop at the floating villages and then also walk through the town (or canoe though depending on the water levels when you visit). We got to visit some of the locals home and see how they live, prepare food, and work. We also stopped in the school where the children were anxious to show off the English they are learning. Lunch at the restaurant was lovely! Thank you Nak and Sokhen for a great experience.
The trip was amazing! The views are so beautiful, fishing village is something I’ve never seen before. It’s even difficult to find words to express fillings! Special thanks to our guid Choub! He made our tour even more interesting with telling a stories about history and local traditions.

On a very hot day we had a lovely cruise on the largest freshwater lake in southeastern Asia. Although a long drive from Siem Reap, the journey was worth it. The floating village was fascinating with every conceivable facility available including Churches and restaurants.

Nak was an amazing tour guide, went above and beyond to cater to our interests and personalise our experience! My favourite was Kamplong Pluk village, the floating village where you can see the culture of the temples and schools. Highly recommend if in Siem Reap.

This was a refreshing trip to Tonle Sap Lake! It was fascinating for me to learn about the two floating villages in the area as well as the respective adaptations have to cope with the weather conditions. Highly recommended!

Our family of 4 had a highly interesting trip to two floating villages guided by Mr Van Lonh. We learnt a lot from his sharing of the villager’s way of life and the eco-system in Tonle Sap. He was teamed by the driver, Mr Vong whose MPV is spacious and clean. We were assured by his safe driving. The highlight for me was to paddle the canoe among tall mangroves in the lake. I highly recommend this trip. 👍
