Meiji Jingu Shrine is een van Tokio's meest iconische en significante Shinto heiligdommen, gelegen in Harajuku. We wandelen samen naar het hoofdgebouw van Meiji Jingu Shrine terwijl we meer leren over de cultuur en geschiedenis. We leren ook over een aantal Japanse traditionele rituelen.
We volgen het Meiji Jingu-heiligdom en gaan naar Harajuku, via de beroemde en kleurrijke Takeshita-straat. Takeshita Street is een bruisende en iconische winkelstraat in de wijk Harajuku van Tokio en biedt tal van winkel- en eetmogelijkheden. (Zoek regenboogsuikerspin of poepijs)
We gaan verder naar Harajuku's Street-Style Wonderland: Duik in de levendige en eclectische modescene van Harajuku, waar elke straat een catwalk is. Dompel jezelf onder in de caleidoscoop van kleuren, stijlen en jeugdige energie die de trendsettende wijk van Tokio definieert. We gaan naar Tokyu Plaza om een aantal fantastische foto's te maken! Het volgende is Shibuya, langs de trendy en modieuze Cat Street.
Shibuya Crossing Spectacle: Ervaar het kloppende hart van Tokio op de beroemde Shibuya Crossing. Sluit je aan bij het ritme van de menigte terwijl je over het drukste kruispunt ter wereld navigeert en getuige bent van de levendige stedelijke energie van de stad. Voordat we de drukke en grootste oversteek ter wereld tegemoet gaan, maken we een korte stop in het nieuwe Miyashita Park. We kunnen een kopje koffie drinken of genieten van de sfeer op het dak!
Shinjuku's wolkenkrabbermajesteit: Bewonder de oogverblindende lichten van de torenhoge wolkenkrabbers van Shinjuku. Nadat we in Shibuya een aantal fantastische foto's hebben gemaakt, nemen we de trein naar Shinjuku. Sommige plekken die je hier moet zien, zijn een aantal fantastische plekken zoals de verborgen Omoide Yokocho, een heel oude traditionele eetstraat, en de enige echte Godzilla!
We sluiten onze mooie dag af met de Kubukichō-toren in Shinjuku Kabukichō, een geweldige plek om "Neon Tokyo" te zien. Wat dit is? Laten we het samen bekijken!
In Odaiba, dompel jezelf onder in de futuristische charme van Aqua City, DECKS Tokyo Beach, met zijn spannende attracties, waaronder het nostalgische Hikara Yokocho. We bezoeken ook het iconische Unicorn Gundam-beeld en genieten van een panoramisch uitzicht vanaf de replica van het Vrijheidsbeeld.
De oorsprong van Tokio. Tijdens de Edoperiode was Asakusa het belangrijkste uitgaansgebied van Tokio, gevuld met kabukitheaters, geishahuizen en straatartiesten. Hoewel er veel is veranderd, leeft de geest van festiviteit voort — vooral tijdens de Sanja Matsuri, een van de wildste festivals van Tokio. Met zijn diepe geschiedenis en verborgen pareltjes achter elk steegje, is Asakusa het best te verkennen met iemand die de verhalen achter wat je ziet kan uitleggen. Van samoerailegendes tot snackgeheimen — laat ons je rondleiden.
Akihabara (秋葉原), vaak liefkozend “Akiba” genoemd, ligt in het centrum van Tokio, in de Chiyoda-afdeling. Wat begon als een naoorlogse zwarte markt voor radio-onderdelen is uitgegroeid tot een van de meest levendige en unieke wijken in Tokio. Akihabara is een speeltuin voor tech-liefhebbers en popcultuurfans, waar je alles vindt van de nieuwste elektronica tot underground anime merchandise.
Gelegen in het noordoosten van Tokio, Ueno Park is een van de meest geliefde groene ruimtes van de stad, bekend om zijn rijke culturele aanbod en seizoensgebonden schoonheid. Oorspronkelijk maakte het park deel uit van de Kaneiji-tempel, maar het werd openbaar land in 1873 en beschikt nu over brede paden, musea en meer dan 1000 kersenbomen! Iets verderop vind je levendige winkelen zoals Ameya-Yokocho, met lokale snacks, souvenirs en mode. De wijk combineert geschiedenis en het dagelijks leven, waardoor het perfect is voor een ontspannen dagje uit te verkennen. Of je nu een cultuurliefhebber, natuurliefhebber of casual wandelwagen bent, Ueno Park biedt voor elk wat wils.

Jero was phenomenal! Book him with confidence. An absolute gentleman who is wonderful at his craft. He’s a wonderful story teller and has tremendous depth of Japan. In advance: We booked the tour at short notice the day before and chose the 8-hour guided tour. Our guide, Jero, picked us up at the hotel and we started the tour right there. He told us a lot about the different districts, mentioned fun facts along the way, and also shared a bit about life in Tokyo. The tour was casual and relaxed - it felt more like a friend showing you the city. Making stops to look at things was no problem. Throughout the journey, he also gave us tips and recommendations. We are glad that we booked this tour! It was really helpful to get an initial insight into the metropolis and made the following days easier. :) I can wholeheartedly recommend it!

Jero gave us an excellent tour including Meiji Shrine and all around Shibuya and Shinjuku, showed us how to use the train and metro systems, accommodated our need to slow down and feed our eleven year old by directing us to an exceptional ramen bar, and talked to us extensively about Japanese culture and life. He took many fun photos of our family at various sites and was focused on ensuring that we got what we wanted out of our tour. Highly recommend!

The tour was very informative, and it was also very interesting to talk with Vanessa about the history of Japan. It was also very pleasant that Vanessa picked us up from the hotel. What we found a bit disappointing was that we assumed Jero would be doing the tour with us. The day before, no one had contacted us until we reached out to inform that our tour would take place the next day.

Our Tokyo tour with Franz was an amazing experience and honestly felt more like spending the day with a friend than being on a tour. Our guide was incredibly fun, easygoing, and made the entire experience memorable, and Jero and Hana were such a great time to be around as well. On our first day, I have booked the 6h tour of Tokyo, in order to learn about the local transport and to get to familiar with the place before we start exploring alone. Very shortly after the booking Jero was in touch with me to ask if I had any questions and was very helpful. Even before the tour started, I was really happy with the customer service provided. On the day, our guide Vanessa who spoke English and German as well as Japanese was absolutely incredible, providing background knowledge on the places we visited with just right amount of info on history and present situation. But most importantly we thanks to her we have managed to see SO MUCH ! In those short 6 hours we have seen Meiji Shrine, Takeshita street, Harajuku, Shibuya, Shinjuku , we took metro to Asakusa where we have seen the Sky tower, Omoide Yokocho, Senso-ji temple and my son also wanted to see Harajuku so that was our last stop. In short , without Vanessa we would have never managed to see so much in such a short time, I definitely recommend this tour it is worth every penny!

Our tour guide was Vanessa and she was delightful. She met us at our hotel and made suggestions before we started. We opted to start at the farthest place first and we were on our way. Vanessa was very knowledgeable about all the places we saw and was able to answer all our questions! We had a great time with her and would do it again if she could be our tour guide!

We were out with Vanessa. It was a private tour. Vanessa was very well-informed, and as a native speaker, it was of course beneficial for us that she could explain everything to us in German. She was also very proficient in the Japanese language. She was attentive to our wishes and schedules. We were able to design the tour very flexibly with her. We can only recommend it.
