De Senso-ji-tempel is de oudste tempel in Tokio. De naam Asakusa verscheen voor het eerst in de geschiedenis van Japan in 628, toen een klein beeldje van de Kannon werd gevangen door twee vissers in Asakusa. De mensen in het dorp bouwden een kleine tempel voor het beeld zonder iets te weten over de oorsprong ervan. Het beeld wordt sinds 645 verborgen gehouden in een verzegelde houten kist, toen een boeddhistische monnik die vanuit Nara was uitgenodigd om het beeld te zien, voorstelde dit te doen. De doos werd in 1868 een keer geopend door officieren die door de regering waren gestuurd om bevelen uit te voeren met betrekking tot de scheiding van Shinto en Boeddhisme. De tempel kreeg constante steun van machtige samoerai en werd in het begin van de 17e eeuw een familietempel van de Tokugawa-shogun. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog zijn de meeste tempelgebouwen verloren gegaan. Het hoofdgebouw werd in 1958 gereconstrueerd en de vijf verdiepingen tellende pagode in 1973.
Hoewel de belangrijkste Tsukiji-markt in 2018 werd vervangen door de Toyosu-markt, blijft de buitenste markt van Tsukiji bestaan. Er zijn nog steeds verschillende restaurants en winkels met tal van interessante items. (Sommige winkels en restaurants zijn gesloten op zondag, woensdag en nationale feestdagen)
Ginza heeft eclectische boetieks en galerijen, de winkels die Japanse traditionele ambachten verkopen, en een ongelooflijke selectie restaurants en geavanceerde architectuur.
Het keizerlijk paleis was van 1603 tot 1868 het kasteel van de Tokugawa-shogunfamilie. Het werd het keizerlijk paleis toen de politieke macht terugkeerde naar keizer Meiji. Het terrein van het Imperial Palace heeft veel van de perfect onderhouden pijnbomen en grasvelden waar u vanuit een auto van kunt genieten. U kunt ook een korte wandeling maken om de paleismuren en bruggen te zien.
Het gebouw van de Nationale Rijksdag (Parlement) is een van de weinige gebouwen in Tokio die de luchtaanvallen van 1945 hebben overleefd. Het gebouw is gebouwd in 1936.
Er zijn verschillende gebouwen ontworpen door 's werelds toonaangevende architecten in Omotesando. Je kunt ook elk beroemd merk in de mode vinden.
Harajuku geeft je enig inzicht in de jeugdcultuur van Japan. Je ziet unieke modetrends en buitensporig design in mode en gebouwen.

It was wonderful and very convenient to have a private tour van pick our family from domestic terminal for 5 hour tour for layover at Tokyo and drop us off later at international terminal. Our tour guide Ms Miku definitely made our tour even more amazing. She accommodated the tour to our family's agenda. She was very knowledgeable and explained history and significance of the places we visited. And we had few delicious food station stops during our walk she recommended that was delicious. Made Harajuku stop longer bec kids wanted to spend more time here. Ms Miku definitely made our 5 hour layover tour an extraordinary experience. We highly recommend Ms Miku as a guide and her company. And thank you for the box of variety of delicious snacks and refreshments.

We had a fantastic time with the wonderful Roberto. He took us to see things we were interested in and had the most amazing stories to tell us. We learnt so much from him, and saw temples and parks and old Tokyo and the highlight was Mt Fuji.

This tour was the highlights of Tokyo. Douglas our tour guide was a delight. He was waiting for us as we arrive, was knowledgeable about our destinations, was flexible in extending our time and planned on the fly. We had planned on a five hour tour and extended it to eight. He even took us to a local restaurant and ordered a unique dining experience for our group. Douglas went the extra mile to meet all our needs. He even assisted us in shopping for a special gift. At the end of our tour, Douglas walked us to our gate and made sure we were safely on our way. All of us would highly recommend this tour and suggest requesting Douglas as your guide. Syota was my tour guide. He was on time, very good communicator and the car was super clean. He knew all the locations I wanted to see. My phone was dead so unable to take photos. He loaned me his phone to take pictures. I wanted to have lunch at a Japanese restaurant. He found one within walking distance of the temple.
