Het nam de groothandel over van de verouderde Tsukiji-markt en biedt toeristen de mogelijkheid om de marktwerking te observeren en te dineren in restaurants in het grote, moderne pand.
De overblijfselen van de hoofdtoren van het Edo-kasteel, tuinen met seizoensbloemen zoals rozen, bamboe, kersenbloesems, theebomen, boomgaarden van klassieke soorten en andere omringen het gazon. Is een ruime, uitgestrekte tuin in het centrum van Tokio. Het is het enige deel van het binnenpaleis dat open is voor het publiek.
Het is een van de meest kleurrijke en populaire tempels van Tokio. De legende zegt dat in het jaar 628 twee broers een beeld van Kannon, de godin van de genade, uit de Sumida-rivier visten, en hoewel ze het beeld terug in de rivier plaatsten, keerde het altijd naar hen terug. Daarom werd Sensoji in de buurt gebouwd voor de godin van Kannon. De tempel werd voltooid in 645 en is daarmee de oudste tempel van Tokio.
Het is het middelpunt van de Tokyo Skytree Town in de wijk Sumida City, niet ver van Asakusa. Met een hoogte van 634 meter (634 kan worden gelezen als "Musashi", een historische naam van de regio Tokio), is het het hoogste bouwwerk in Japan en het op één na hoogste ter wereld op het moment van voltooiing. Aan de voet bevindt zich een groot winkelcentrum met een aquarium.
Takeshita Street is een bruisende en levendige winkelstraat in de wijk Harajuku in Tokio, Japan. Beroemd om zijn kleurrijke reeks modeboetieks, trendy cafés en unieke eetstalletjes op straat, is Takeshita Street een hotspot voor zowel de lokale bevolking als toeristen die op zoek zijn naar de nieuwste modetrends en eigenzinnige vondsten. Had a 10 hour layover in Tokyo so decided to book a tour with Xplorjapan ( process is seamless via WhatsApp) and requested Ryu Fuse as my guide/driver who was highly recommended by my sister in law. By the time I arrived at Haneda , Ryu was already there and patiently waited for me as I changed for the colder weather of Tokyo compared to Manila and Bangkok. He drove a Toyota Alphard so I did bring my carry on to the minivan instead of putting it in a locker. Fir this time of the year, naje sure to bring gloves and hat because by noon , the wind picked up. Ryu is very fluent in English so I had fun talking to him during rides between sights and he was quite knowledgeable about the history of each destination. Since I am by myself , he was kind enough to take my pictures except for the couple of places ( Shibuya and portion of Senso-ji Temple) where he had to stay with the van. My impressions- Shibuya and Skytree were OK since I live only 4 hours away from New York City. Anamori had the Torii gates which I wanted to see and it inspires me to want to see the original ones in Kyoto. I would go back and spend more time in Senso- ji. Others were turned off by the somewhat commercialized main street infront of the temple but I love the vibrant energy of it including the side streets. The crowd was mostly locals and loved seeing some of them in their kimonos. It gave me a little insight into the real Japanese lifestyle/culture( food) with some help also from Ryu. The last destination was another super crowded area, the Harujuku/Takeshita Sts. Saw a few young people in cosplay.. A must see but once is enough. Ryu dropped me off at Haneda with enough time to get through the super crowded security check- in and make it to my gate with time to relax before boarding. I have been to European and Middle East cities and none compare to Tokyo in its cleanliness!!! I was glad I booked this Tokyo tour with Xplorjapan and had Ryu as my guide, instead of hanging around the terminal.

Ryu, our driver/guide was excellent and professional in every way. Each place/landmark we stopped at, he tells the history of the place. He also gives recommendations of the best place to eat local traditional Japanese food. Ryu was Super helpful. He is also great at taking photos, we like all the pictures he took of us.
