Bezoek het Museum Het Rembrandthuis in Amsterdam en bekijk het huis en atelier van Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn. De grootste kunstenaar van Nederland woonde en werkte twintig jaar lang in dit indrukwekkende gebouw in het hart van Amsterdam, dat nu een museum is. Het Rembrandthuis biedt bezoekers een complete Rembrandt-ervaring. De zeventiende-eeuwse inventaris dient als gids, want het huis is zorgvuldig opnieuw ingericht met meubels, kunst en voorwerpen uit die tijd. Het museum heeft een vrijwel complete collectie aan etsen van Rembrandt en biedt inspirerende tentoonstellingen over Rembrandt, zijn voorgangers, tijdgenoten en leerlingen. Op 18 maart 2023 is het museum heropend met 30% meer Rembrandt. Er zijn vijf nieuwe museumruimtes bijgekomen, waaronder een epiloogruimte, een etszolder en een derde tentoonstellingsruimte. De nieuwe multimediatour laat het Rembrandthuis en de zeventiende eeuw echt tot leven komen. Je volgt het levensverhaal van Rembrandt, vanaf zijn komst als ambitieuze beroemde kunstenaar tot aan zijn gedwongen vertrek vanwege een opeenstapeling van schulden. Verder zijn er dagelijks ets- en schilderdemonstraties in het museum. Precies op de plek waar Rembrandt zijn meesterwerken maakte, in zijn atelier, ontdek je hoe hij zijn verf maakte. Op de nieuwe etszolder leer je meer over de etstechnieken van Rembrandt. Het is alsof je over de schouder van de kunstenaar meekijkt.

I thought it was a wonderful experience. We had someone give as a demonstration on how Rembrandt made etchings and did his printing. It was wonderful. I would highly recommend this museum.
Museum Het Rembrandthuis is located in the old town of Amsterdam, in an historical house, where this well known painter (Rembrandt) was living for some years. We came here with my 9 years old daughter and all of them were seeing the rooms, listening to the explanations and seeing some reproductions of the paintings. Really an excellent museum to learn about the life of the painter and their artworks. Very recommendable!

takes about an hour to tour the house, takes your through his life, paintings and etchings. Nice gift shop.
I went to the Rembrandt House with my friend whilst visiting Amsterdam and it was one of the greatest museums I have ever experienced and went to. Though it looks small from the outside, we both assumed we would be in the their for only an hour and ended up staying for well over three hours! We did a self guided audio tour which was fantastic end enjoyed reading and looking at everything the museum had to offer. We also went on the anniversary of the founding of the museum and ended up receiving a free book from the woman at the check out desk, who was very lovely and nice! The whole museum was pleasant and I would highly recommend it.

Fascinating tour of Rembrandt’s house. Excellent audio guide. There was a live demonstration of Rembrandt’s etching and printing techniques. So many of his household items are in the house. Also his studio and where he taught students.

The exhibition is comprehensive and rich, the staff is friendly, and it is not enough to go back and forth and look at some exhibition area.

This house/museum is really interesting. I enjoyed seeing the house in which Rembrandt lived; the details are fascinating. His studio area was also really neat!
