De Banff Gondola wordt het hele jaar door bediend door Roam Public Transit – Route 1. Pendelbussen met tickets rijden regelmatig met haltes langs Banff Avenue. The private Gondola was about a 5 minute ride. The mountain top had both inside and outside viewing areas. Outside had a boardwalk to a lookout with many steps and resting points. Look for the bighorn sheep that hang out under the boardwalk. There a 2 restaurants and an outdoor Patio. Also a gift shop and video about the area.
3 stars because the experience itself was nice. The ride is quick and easy and the views are amazing. Definitely book the restaurant ahead to ensure you can grab a drink with a view at the top. However. We needed to change our ride time due to rain. We called to go about initiating this change and we’re directed to an AI chat bot. I cannot emphasize enough how badly people do NOT want this. Companies that do this are showing their disdain for customer service and lack of care for their own employees. These bots, of course, were unable to do anything remotely resembling a helpful service. So we had to call back again and demand a human customer service representative. Once we got through to a human, she was lovely and went above and beyond to help us with our issue. Stop using AI. It sucks. No one wants it.
4 people to a gondola. Mom is in a wheelchair and had no problems, staff assisted her in/out and making sure wheelchair made the trip with her. Staff is very friendly and obviously enjoy their jobs. Certainly recommend getting tickets early (I do NOT know how the walk-up process works).
It was amazing! The weather was not bad at all,we expected rain but luckily it held off. We were 10 in our group ages 12 to 75. The kids very much enjoyed it. We saw two large horned goats. Would have loved to see a bear but they did not show up. Everything was very organized and well run.
Beautiful views at the top and time to walk around plus have a coffee. Even though we had seen many lakes and vistas already this view was awe inspiring.
Booked via Viator. From Banff town you can take the bus for free by showing your gondola ticket, drops you outside. Large shop, restaurant and washrooms be for going up the mountain. Large area to wait for checked time and a photo opportunity if you want it. At the top there’s another shop and eateries. Amazing views and a boardwalk with lots of steps up to the old rangers hut. Took my husband about 40 minutes to get there and back. There’s also a walking trail to the top for those who like to hike. Would definitely recommend.
Stunning views and well worth the time and cost. Every angle is a postcard view. Staff were all lovely & had the added bonus of a free return bus pass from the Elk & Avenue hotel. Do not miss this when in Banff.
Amazing views from up top. Staff are very friendly and accommodating, but it’s a bit on the pricey side. Even if you hike up the sulphur mountain trail and do the one-way down, it costs almost 50$. A round trip is double that.
Great experience interesting ride raining when we started the trip thick snow at the summit. Unable to do the boardwalk and see any views but very scenic with the snow
Having the Viator vouchers made ticketing very easy at the gondola entrance. Fun excursion. Give yourself a good couple of hours to enjoy the boardwalk and various views from the top.
