Tijuca Forest Challenge-dagwandeling (kleine groep of privé)

Een uitdagende wandeling in een zeer ongewoon deel van het Tijuca-woud, een van de grootste stadsbossen ter wereld. Op dit circuit van paden loop je ca. 5 uur, gedurende 10,4 km (6,5 mijl), met een hoogteverschil van 848 m (2,670 ft) en ontdek de natuur en schoonheid van de jungle. Bereik de Taquara-heuvel (814 meter), 100 meter hoger dan de Christus Verlosser met een fantastisch uitzicht op de vallei van het bos en de stad, op heldere dagen. Bezoek grotten en ook ruïnes van koffieboerderijen. Na de wandeling kunt u zich opfrissen in een waterval* (handdoek/badpak meenemen). Op de route naar het park stop je bij een andere top voor foto's en bewonder je het landschap. Het landschap van deze tour is geweldig met natuur en veel avontuur. Je leert ook de geschiedenis van Brazilië kennen, van het bos, de koffieboerderijen in dat gebied en de herbebossing die plaatsvond in de 19e eeuw. *De stroming op de watervallen varieert afhankelijk van de regen. *het gaat ook naar Vista Chinesa, maar alleen op werkdagen (in het weekend/op feestdagen is Vista Chinesa gesloten voor voertuigen)

In het Tijuca Forest National Park bezoeken we enkele van de beroemdste attracties zoals de Taunay-waterval, Vista Chinesa en maken we ook onze circuitwandeling (ongeveer 9 km = 5,6 mijl) langs watervallen, toppen en bereiken van toppen met een prachtig uitzicht, zoals het Taquara-kasteel (814 m = 2670 ft).
Op weg naar Tijuca Forest National Park rijden we langs Canoas Summit en het is mogelijk om van ver Pedra da Gávea en Pedra Bonita te zien, die samen een mooi landschap vormen.
In de hoofdsector van Tijuca Forest brengen we het grootste deel van de dag door. Wandel in een luscircuit diep in het regenwoud, ervaar al zijn weelderigheid, langs rivieren, watervallen, pieken en grotten en uiteindelijk verfrissend in een watervaldouche.
De Taunay-waterval is de hoogste en beroemdste waterval in Tijuca Forest Park. Voordat we aan de wandeling beginnen, komen we langs om zijn schoonheid te zien, zijn freschness te voelen en wat foto's te maken. (zwemmen in deze waterval is niet toegestaan maar na de wandeling bezoeken we nog een val waar gedoucht kan worden).
We rijden langs deze charmante, kleine en schattige kleine kapel, gebouwd in 1850, toen het Tijuca-bos een koffieboerderij was.
Dit wordt beschouwd als een van de mooiste uitzichten in Rio en een van de weinige plaatsen in de stad waar je Christus Verlosser en Sugar Loaf in hetzelfde frame kunt plaatsen. Het bevindt zich niet in hetzelfde gedeelte van het park waar we de wandeling zullen maken, maar we zullen daar onderweg stoppen om het uitzicht te bekijken en wat foto's te maken.

He could answer all our questions - and there where many! - really, it was kind of a National Geographic tour, where we learned a lot and had a good time. We had a great day hiking in the rainforest around Rio with Gustavo. As well as a guide we got a history teacher, geography teacher and naturalist all in one. He also takes great photos! It is a full day with a lot of uphill so you need to be reasonably fit but the pace was perfect with plenty of stops. Really good communication from Anna when booking and the day before the trip.

Riccardo was the perfect tour guide. We were a group of three people and he shared many interesting insights about the forest and its history, was always very friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. Compared to the half-day tour, this excursion also includes a hike to a peak with two incredible viewpoints (about 300 meters of altitude difference, starting at an altitude of about 500 meters). I would completely recommend this tour if you're interested in leaving the touristic areas of the forest, where all the half-day tours go to, and would like to dive deeper into the forest.

If you're in good shape and up for a challenge, I would highly recommend this hike. Our guide, Gustavo, was kind and thoughtful, giving us lots of interesting information throughout the hike but also allowing us to walk in silence sometimes and just experience the forest. It started to rain lightly at one point, and he was prepared with ponchos for us which was really nice! He also helped us navigate around a tree that had fallen over the trail, which was a bit of excitement. Note: the hiking pole Gustavo offered at the start was KEY for me as the trail became slippery. Even if you're an experienced hiker, definitely consider it because this hike is already challenging and a little bit of rain can make it even harder. Pack yourself a nice lunch and enjoy the views!
