Tijdens deze tour zul je een geweldige smaak van Athene proeven! Tijdens uw privétour bezoekt u de heilige Rots van de Akropolis met het Parthenon, bewondert u de overblijfselen van de tempel van Zeus, bezoekt u het moderne Olympische, Panatheense of "Kalimarmaro" -stadion en loopt u vervolgens door de Nationale Tuinen naar het hart van de stad. Je zult ook het Syntagma-plein zien en getuige zijn van de elk uur wisselen van de wacht, voor het Griekse parlement. Tijdens de rondleiding ziet u ook de beroemde trilogie van de neoklassieke architectuur, de Nationale Bibliotheek, de Academie van Kunsten en Wetenschappen en de eerste universiteit van Athene. Daarna gaan we naar de stad Kolonaki, waar mode- en couture-winkels met elite elkaar ontmoeten met prachtige terrasjes. Later gaan we naar het centrum van de levendige vis- en vleesmarkt, voordat we naar het Monastiraki-plein gaan. Eindelijk, als tijd en verkeer het toelaten, zul je getuige zijn van een adembenemend uitzicht over alles wat je tot nu toe hebt gezien, vanaf het hoogste punt van de stad, de Lycabettus-heuvel!

De Sightseeing van Athene begint meestal op de heuvel van de Akropolis, met bekende architectonische meesterwerken uit de Gouden Eeuw van Athene met Erechtheion (vrouwelijke beelden van de Caryatides of Maidens gewijd aan godin Athena en god Poseidon), de tempel van Athena Nike en Propylaea. Je hebt ook een grote kans om het monument te voorzien (dat houdt een volgorde in gedachten), dat is het Parthenon. Vanaf de top van de heuvel van de Akropolis zie je het Odeon van Herodus Atticus, het theater van Dionysus en de Areopagus (Mars Hill). Maak je klaar voor een onvergetelijke dag! We verwachten u!

Je gaat proeven van het populairste marktgebied van Athene. Dit is wat we het "oude Athene" noemen, waaronder Griekse taverna's, cafetaria's en veel souvenirwinkels. Alles omgeven door prachtige gebouwen van neoklassieke architectuur.

Monasteraki is het laatste van de drie belangrijkste pleinen van Athene. Dit noemen wij de historische driehoek. Dit is het centrum van het vlooienmarktgebied, vol met souvenirwinkels, eetgelegenheden en archeologische vindplaatsen.
Dit is de centrale, open voedselmarkt van Athene. Atheners zullen daarheen gaan om de beste kwaliteit vlees, verse vis en alles wat met eten te maken heeft te vinden, tegen de beste prijzen.
Erechteion is een tempel gelegen op de heuvel van de Akropolis, naast het Parthenon. Zes verbazingwekkende vrouwelijke beelden genaamd Karyatides maken dit gebouw uniek in zijn soort.
De Tempel van Athena Nike, of "Vleugelloze" Nike, staat trots voor de Propylaia.

Vandaag hebben we een gloednieuw gebouw van de Nationale Bibliotheek. Dit gebouw maakt deel uit van de Atheense "Trilogie van Cultuur", gelegen aan de Panepistimiou-straat.
Petralona is een Atheense wijk buiten het toeristische gebied van Athene. Dit is de plaats met een geweldige lokale taverna, waar we je mee kunnen nemen voor de lunch (optioneel, lunch is niet inbegrepen in de prijs van de tour).

The planning was easy with Marcos but what really made it worthwhile was that our Tour Guide Nancy, was absolutely fantastic! Was very prompt picking us up at the hotel, asked about our priorities and then stitched it all together seamlessly. We asked for a local, family ran restaurant for lunch and boy did she deliver! We couldn’t have been happier with her knowledge of the city and its history or the fantastic food.

We had a fantastic day in Athens thanks to this taxi tour. Markos was an exceptional driver: friendly, professional, and attentive throughout the entire day. During the tour, he shared fascinating and informative explanations about the history, culture, and traditions of Greece, and thanks to him we learned so much, which made the experience even more enriching. What an amazing experience in Athens. Our guide Markos made the day one we will never forget. He knew so much about “his” city. We made many historical stops and he even had photos and maps for us to visualize and better understand the ruins and the physical locations where history was made. Wonderful all day tour. Sotiri was very knowledgeable and Marcus the driver got around the narrowest streets and dropped us at the door without seeming any effort. If I was driving we’d still be in the hotel parking lot. From pickup to drop off it was a memorable experience.

Yannis was amazing. He picked us up from hotel, vehicle was very clean and comfortable. As he drove us from Athen to Corinth he gave us so much information on the history and the areas that we drove through.
