We beginnen de tour met een pick-up bij je hotel, waarna de gids je naar de stad Tigre brengt, waar je een 1 uur durende navigatie in comfortabele boten door de Rio de La Plata hebt met het beste panoramische uitzicht over de stad , varend langs de 5e grootste delta ter wereld. De gids wacht op je in Tigre voor een rondleiding in een privéauto door de beroemde geplaveide straten van San Isidro, samen met de kathedraal en de belangrijkste punten van de stad Tigre, zoals de Paseo Victorica, de musea en het casino. Ze zullen ook de Puerto de Frutos bezoeken, waar ze vrije tijd zullen hebben om te verkennen en te winkelen. Aan het einde van de tour zetten we u af bij uw hotel.

The Fruit Port is een kleine pier aan de oevers van de rivier de Luján in de stad Tigre, waar naast de fruitmarkt zich bevindt. Ze danken hun naam aan het feit dat daar tot het midden van de 20e eeuw de fruitproductie uit de Paraná-delta landde, die vervolgens in de stad Buenos Aires op de markt werd gebracht.
Paseo Victorica is een uitzonderlijke plek, een combinatie van natuur, uitzicht op de rivier, gastronomie, roeiclubs en historische bezienswaardigheden.
De kathedraal van San Isidro is een religieuze tempel in neogotische stijl. Het nam vormen van genoemde stijl aan die in Europa tussen de 12e en 16e eeuw werden gebruikt, met als enige verschil dat moderne materialen en technieken werden gebruikt. Het meest kenmerkende van de kathedraal zijn de slanke lijnen die vanuit de religiositeit zijn ontworpen zodat ze naar de hemel wijzen. De gevel werd gerestaureerd met imitatiesteen en zichtbare baksteen met de taak om de originele ornamenten in een werkplaats te vormen. De hoofdtoren is 68 m hoog. De basis is een Latijns kruis met drie beuken met een ronde apsis. De kolommen zijn cilindrisch en de stenen en bakstenen muren hebben openingen met glas-in-lood gemaakt in Frankrijk en gotische rozetten. Bij binnenkomst in de kathedraal kan de grootsheid worden gewaardeerd door de vormen die opvallen bij de laatste restauratie. Binnen zie je de zuilen en bogen in neogotische stijl die je naar het altaar brengen.
Het River Station in Tigre, waar we kunnen genieten van wat de stad ons te bieden heeft. De service op onze boten omvat audiogids in het Spaans, Engels en Portugees. en betreed dan het eerste deel van de Paraná Delta. We komen binnen via de rivieren van San Antonio, het gebied "Tres bocas" en vervolgens de rivier de Sarmiento. Langs de route zien we erkende bezienswaardigheden zoals het Casa Sarmiento Museum, recreatie en typische herbergen van het gebied, privéhuizen, dokken, inheemse vegetatie van het gebied, de Delta en het bijzondere eilandleven.

After hearing from several people that we needed to visit the Tigre Delta we booked an afternoon private tour. We drove from the city center through Ave Libertador which was a very nice scenery, we stopped at San Isidro and saw the church and then proceeded to take a catamaran boat tour on the rivers Sarmientos and San Antonio. We were unable to walk around the San Fernando port area nor stop for lunch but it was a beautiful scenery.

The boat ride on the Tigre Delta (about 100 passengers n the boat) was pleasant and interesting. The "private tour" aspect was transportation to and from our hotel. Four of us were crammed uncomfortably into a small car. The driver spoke very little English, so there was not a lot of commentary about the sites in between the hotel and boat ride. Main activity was to try to sell us on a stop where we were supposed to purchase leather goods. We turned it down. In sum, would have been better to take a big bus tour.

We booked with Depasseios LLC (dp) for a city tour through Get Your Guide, and we had a great experience. Because of this, we went directly to the dp website to book the Tigre Delta tour. What a different experience, and not in a good way. They lost our reservation, and no tour guide showed up to pick us up at the scheduled time of 9am. Fortunately, we still had Luca, our city tour guide, on WhatsApp, and he was able to make contact with the office (none of the numbers we were provided with for dp worked), and they scrambled to find a guide for us who arrived at 10:15 am. The great news is that Diego, our eventual tour guide, was fantastic! We made it to Tigre by noon for the river tour, and we still had a successful day. At the end of the tour, Diego introduced us to El Ateneo Grand Splendid, an opera house converted into a bookstore, which we would have never found without Diego. So my rating is a 5 for Diego, and a 1 for Depasseios LLC, the tour company. That averages out to a 3.

This tour wasn’t what we expected. The guide picked us up at our hotel and drove us to Tigre. The guide seemed surprised that we expected him to get on the boat with us. He was just going to wait on the pier. Good thing he came, because the boat narrator didn’t say anything in English. Our guide was able to tell us what she said. The Tigre delta was not very picturesque. Mainly old houses along the river, most in bad repair.

Maurice was our guide and did a great job. He showed us the sites on the way to Tigre. The boat trip was very nice. It makes a loop through the delta. Very pretty area. We had beautiful weather for a boat ride. Lots of shade on the top level to enjoy the views. I highly recommend!
