Tie-Dye-activiteit en traditionele stadswandeling in NAGOYA

Beschrijving

This was a fabulous experience!!! It was great to learn about the history of tie-dyeing in Arimatsu, and to see traditional techniques applied in creating beautiful fabrics — and it was fascinating to see some contemporary innovations as well, interesting new materials and exciting new techniques. Yusuke and his wife were wonderful guides! Throughout the day, they went above and beyond to make sure I got to see everything that I wanted to in Nagoya. They answered all my questions, pointed out details that I would have missed, and made sure I had a good experience from start to finish. They provided an amazing window into the history and the future of tie-dyeing in Japan!
Thank you for posting your review! We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed tie-dye and our tour. We hope you’ll share Arimatsu tie-dye with people in the US. We hope to see you in Arimatsu again someday!
Yusuke and his wife were excellent hosts and guides during the tour. I had a wonderful time with them and learned a lot about the area and shibori dyeing. It was really enjoyable getting to know them during lunch and the tour. Yusuke did a great job translating for me, it enabled me to understand a lot more of the information during the class than I would have gotten with my minimal Japanese. I really appreciate the time and effort he and his wife put in. Overall a wonderful experience and one I would recommend.
Thank you for posting your review! We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed Tie-dye activity in Arimatsu. You have great skill and passion. And your Tie-dye works were very beautiful! So Tie-Dye teacher offered you to work in his factory. We hope you visit Arimatsu again!
Yusuke and his wife were fantastic! They were very friendly and welcomed us (my mom, friend and myself) with water when we met. They were very accommodating of my 80+ year old mother who couldn’t walk too quickly. We truly enjoyed learning about the Arimatsu area and the history behind it. I’m still reeling over how true shibori tie-dye is done! It is truly mind blowing. After the tie dye experience, we enjoyed lunch with them at an udon/donburi restaurant with green tea. It was delicious! We then went to a museum and was introduced to the “parade floats” that they bring out once a year that takes over 30 men to move! Incredible! All with a puppet that can write the kanji for the year. We also visited a museum of one of the original shibori homes. My husband is in construction and wow—the structures were amazing. Also the tie-dye that was left behind. Lol. All in all, I would love to do this tour again if we are ever in the area!
Thank you for posting your review! We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed Tie-dye activity and other experiences in Arimatsu. Your Tie-dye works were very beautiful, so we think you have great skill of Tie-dye. We hope you visit Arimatsu at the festival day (October) next time.
The friendly and informative hosts. Good information about shibori. Enjoyed the experience. Would definitely recommend.
Dear Susan Thank you for your feedback. I’m really happy that you enjoyed the tour. We hope you come with your SHIBORI friends next time.
Yusuke was easy to communicate with even before the tour and was accommodating when I had to change the date. The new date happened to fall on Arimatsu’s Annual Tenmansha Autumn Festival and he was excited to catch it with me too. He was open, interested in languages and pretty zen, not hurrying or watching the time. We walked around the old town, attended the Shibori workshop, had lunch together in an old house, visited an old warehouse, prayed at the shrine, had coffee, watched the floats…while he shared the history, culture etc of the place. It was like visiting Arimatsu with a local guide and a friend. I would recommend visiting Arimatsu with Yusuke (and his wife/assistant if you were lucky) and hope that you will enjoy the tour as much as I had.
Dear Serene, Thank you for your feedback! We're very glad you enjoyed our tour and Arimatsu. We're also enjoyed your talk about staying many countries. We're looking forward seeing you again.
