Waste of time The displays are outdated. Nothing fascinating about them. I don't think I've ever met a ruder set of employees than the staff here at the museum of natural history. One elevator was out of order as well which made for long lines if you didn't know where the other bank of elevators were, Not to mention just the enormous wait just to let us inside when it's a heat index of 100° out
It’s a bit overwhelming- the sheer size of the place. I highly recommend taking a free 1 hour tour. Loves seeing the blue whale, T. rex, and the bison. Such wonderful exhibits, I have to come back. Shout out to Arlene the guide, seems underestimating to say,. She not only talked through as we walked through the exhibits she brought a very warm lovely story telling to the experience, I felt like I was on an elementary school field trip/ without the lunchables. Anyway l, highly recommend, gotta check it out.
We enjoyed the museum. It is amazing. At the beginning I thought 3 hours would be enough, but we spent almost 4 hours. We would visit it again!
The recreation and space dedicated to the different species is spectacular. On the negative side, the very low temperature of the air conditioning. It is very cold. In summer a jacket is advisable and there should be more benches to be able to sit during the visit.
I was so excited to come here on my trip to NYC but ultimately left after only 45 minutes because it was so incredibly loud that it ruined my day. Do not come if you have sensory issues.
The museum is amazing. Really impressive. But returning tickets through third parties puts you in a very uncomfortable position. While visitors who purchased regular access tickets directly from the museum’s website had their admission immediately, we, who purchased from third party websites (Viator, booking, get your guide, etc.) had to pick up a queue of more than 45 minutes to exchange the voucher for tickets. On upcoming visits, I will surely buy directly from the museum’s website. Unfortunately
I didn’t get to experience anything because I tried to cancel and customer service was not helpful in getting this done. I was not in New York for this event. I was trying to book for July 10th, 2026. Human error made and I just want to be refunded for this booking.
As a total museum lover, I absolutely loved here! Glad I booked online to skip the massive ticket lines. The exhibits are stunning, and it’s really educational for kids!
Highlight was the planetarium I paid extra to go for, no regrets. Many floors of differently themed exhibits. Really felt the vibe of NOTM here
Absolutely recommended during trip to New York! Great museum where you could spend infinite time. We did the highlights one afternoon, it was fantastic! It is recommended to buy the tickets in advance at the museum itself. Tickets via here mean that you still have to queue to have the tickets converted to a voucher.
